An Argentine soccer player was beaten and strangled by her husband, who then hung himself in the couple's bedroom while her one of her two children was playing video games.
Florencia Guiñazú, 30, was found lying on the floor in a pool of blood and Ignacio Notto, 32, was located inside a closet after a concerned neighbor alerted police in Guamayén, a city in the central province of Mendoza, on Saturday.
The neighbor noticed a sign on a window that read, 'Call 911. The children are alone,' and when the witness arrived, he was greeted by Guiñazú's seven-year-old son.
The boy told the man his mother and Notto were locked in the bedroom but were not answering. After repeated attempts to open the door, the neighbor called the police.
After questioning the boy, who said he had stepped out of the home because he was 'hungry,' the cops tried once again to get Guiñazú and Notto to answer and then decided to force their way inside and made the gruesome discovery.

Law enforcement sources with knowledge of the investigation told El Sol newspaper that neighbors heard loud noises around 5 a.m. Saturday.
The outlet reported that Guiñazú filed a domestic violence complaint with the police in November 2023 after Notto beat her and locked her inside their apartment's bathroom.
However, charges were not filed due to lack of evidence.
'It was a couple with a very open relationship,' the law enforcement source said. 'But the fights were constant in recent times.'
The Mendoza prosecutor’s revealed that Guiñazú appeared before the district attorney following the November 25 incident and said that she just wanted Notto to leave their home because they had separated a week earlier.
'I ask him everyday to leave my home,' Guiñazú told the district attorney’s office. 'It was just an argument and nothing happened.'
Although Guiñazú declined further assistance from the district attorney's office, a restraining order was put in place, preventing Notto from contacting her.

'We greatly regret her murder, which was FEMICIDE. (On Saturday) her husband Ignacio Noto beat her to death and then committed suicide,' the club said in a statement Monday.
'Despite being legally united in marriage, they were separated, she had already denounced him repeatedly, and he was arrested and released in November 2023.'
