Brittany Cartwright spoke about hitting her 'breaking point' in sexless marriage to Jax Taylor and claims they've discussed the possibility of 'seeing other people' amid their separation.

Cartwright, 35, announced in February that she and Taylor, 44, had decided to split after four years of marriage and one child together.

In a new interview with Us Weekly, the Vanderpump Rules alum said that her and Taylor's sex life had 'dwindled so much' in recent years and that it began to affect her self esteem.

'I felt like I wasn't good enough. If you start to feel like your partner doesn't want you and they're also being mean to you, it's like, "What am I doing here?" I'm basically living with a roommate. I hit my breaking point,' she explained.

'I don't want to be unhappy for the rest of my life. I don't want to be in a sexless marriage for the rest of my life. I don't want to be arguing with my husband for the rest of my life.'

When she tried to speak to Taylor about their lack of sex, Cartwright claimed that he would tell her was '44 and I'm tired' — an answer that didn't suffice for her.

'I was like, "Oh my gosh, everybody has kids, and not everybody's going through this!" I can't talk to him about things; he always goes on the defensive. He doesn't care about my side,' Cartwright said.

She then recalled the 'huge fight' that caused her to move out of their $2million Valley Village home and how their bickering worsened after wrapping shooting on Bravo's The Valley.

Cartwright said that she 'packed up my bag and was like, "I have to get out of here"' after a fight ensued over Jax partying one night until 4 o'clock in the morning.

That same night, Cartwright went out with the couple's close friend and The Valley co-star Kristen Doute but returned home at 10 o'clock.

'So he was out way later than me. I don't know if he was hungover the next morning or what, but he comes in and starts a huge fight with me,' she recalled. 'He, like, made a story up in his head that [Kristen's boyfriend], Luke, was reaching out to him saying we were already having issues in our marriage at that time. He gets in his head. He doesn't like to think that I'm telling people about our problems. He wants me to keep everything to myself. He doesn't want me to talk to anybody else about it. … But in reality, Luke never texted him. So he just made up this big story to sort of fight with me the next morning because he was having insecurities in his own head.'

Cartwright felt that Taylor was just trying 'to start a fight with me' like 'numerous times' before.

'I was like, "OK, this is insane. I cannot deal with this. This is obviously a toxic situation. If you don't get help, then me and Cruz are not going to be living here right now." Because it just didn't feel it didn't feel right,' she said.

Cartwright is currently hunkering down in an Airbnb just down the road from the couple's marital home as she and Taylor continue to co-parent Cruz, who will turn three in April.

She added: 'I need to make sure Cruz isn't living in a house where his parents are fighting; that could be a horrible way to grow up.'

Cartwrights insists that she and Jax do not fight in front of their son and that she thinks Cruz 'is happier that we're not in the same house right now — and that tells me a lot.'

Although she refuses to 'get back into a toxic situation' with Taylor, Cartwright said that there is 'definitely a chance' that they could get back together.

But she's yet to see the changes she wants to see in him.

'I'm not seeing enough effort from his side. He needs to go to therapy. He doesn't need to be staying out at the bar all the time,' she said, referencing to their bar Jax's Studio City.

'He needs to respect me more and stop taking me for granted. I was the closest person to him and was kind of like his punching bag. He was always giving me jabs. I can't deal with that for the rest of my life.'

She continued: 'The fighting has to stop. We were just constantly digging at each other. We got to that point, which I think a lot of marriages go through, where everything that the other person does is getting on your nerves.

'That's a horrible feeling and a horrible way to live. That's one of the main reasons I knew that we needed space from each other.'

Cartwright is still 'in love' with Taylor but insists that she's a different person now than when they first began dating in 2015.

'I was very naive in the beginning on Vanderpump Rules. I was on a TV show, being embarrassed by Jax, but I was madly in love, and I just wanted to be with him,' she told readers.

'I'm different now. I can stand up for myself and not take his s**t anymore.'

She said that her and Taylor 'need to have a serious conversation' about the next step in their relationship and whether or not divorce is imminent.

'Every time I try to talk to him, it turns into an argument but I'm obviously not going to do this for very long,' she told the outlet. 'I'm spending money on an Airbnb. I would love to be in my house.'

Although they've yet to discuss what would happen with their assets if they do decide to divorce, Cartwright said she 'would love to' take over their Valley Village home.

The first season of the Vanderpump Rules spin-off The Valley premiered last month — marking Jax and Brittany's return to reality TV after they were fired by Bravo in 2020.

Although being on reality TV 'normally' doesn't affect their relationship dynamic, Cartwright said that she noticed that things became more tense between them when the shoot wrapped last summer.

'We'd always talked about having more kids, and he started questioning that. We weren't being intimate. … We were getting on each other's nerves. I'm not perfect; I was yelling at him too. It just started getting bad. He was staying at the bar more. A lot of things piled up,' she explained.

Having been separated for three months, Cartwright revealed that she and Taylor have discussed the possibility of dating other people 'here and there.'

'We act like it would be OK, but I'm not sure. I think he'd freak out if he saw me with a man. I'd be upset, too. You can get over those things, but the first one might be strange,' she explained.

If she were to get back in the dating game, the mother-of-one said that she would be looking for a man who 'has their stuff together, who is confident and respectful and makes me laugh.'

She admits that dating may be 'difficult' due to her being a reality TV star.

Cartwright said that she's 'proud of [herself]' for going through with the separation and is now focusing on her 'mental and physical health.'

'I'm trying to stay busy working out, spending time with my friends and talking to my family. I'm focusing on my mental and physical health. This revenge body is about to be insane! I'm getting my sparkle back.'

Last week, Cartwright opened up to DailyMail.com about the real reason behind the split and how the birth of their first child Cruz in 2021 made her reevaluate her marriage to the controversial Vanderpump Rules villain.

'Jax is Jax, whether he's on TV or not on TV - that's something everybody needs to understand,' she said.

'So for me, it was just kind of like taking up for myself. Having a child really woke me up and lifted a veil a little bit of what I deserve and what I am going to put up with for the rest of my life,' she continued.

'It wasn't because we were on a TV show. It was just because of the way we were interacting with each other time after time after time.

'And I just knew that I had to ... figure out what I want to do for my future and make things a super positive living situation for my son. That's all that I care about.'

Brittany also admitted that the couple came under financial strain when they were fired from Vanderpump Rules in 2020 - which contributed to fractures in their marriage.

'It was definitely a difficult time in our relationship,' she confessed.

'It kind of shifted gears where I became the breadwinner because I was still working, I was doing commercials and different brand deals,' she continued.

'I was super lucky to have all that happen for me, but Jax wasn't having the same stuff happening for him. So it was a big shift in our relationship that kind of took a toll for a while.'

Brittany landed a lucrative endorsement deal with weight loss company Jenny Craig in 2022 that was worth a a rumored $2million.

The Kentucky-born waitress also had a huge clothing collaboration with fast fashion retailer Cupshe.
