Terrell Suggs' arrest on Tuesday on charges of assault and offenses against public order came after a March incident in which he allegedly flashed a gun and threatened to kill a man at a Starbucks drive-through, it has been reported.

Suggs was arrested at 2:40pm Tuesday and brought to jail in Maricopa County, Arizona.

And according to police documents obtained by TMZ, the arrest followed an altercation on March 10, which began when Suggs accidentally made contact with another driver's car.

The former Ravens linebacker had driven past the ordering speaker at a Scottsdale Starbucks drive-through, and made contact with another man's vehicle when he put his car in reverse.

While there was allegedly no damage to the other driver's car, cops said both drivers exited their vehicles and began to argue, with Suggs later giving the man the middle finger as he was about to leave himself.

At that point, according to police documents, the argument ramped up again, with Suggs allegedly challenging the man to a fight, calling him a 'p**** a*** cracker' and saying 'I'll kill your bitch a***.'

He then allegedly flashed a black handgun in his left hand, outside of his driver's side window.

While officials noted the gun was not pointed at the other man, they still believe Suggs was trying to threaten him.

Sources 'close to' the former NFL player told TMZ that he felt threatened during the altercation, while the other man was the one who reported it to authorities.

Suggs was released from jail on Tuesday evening.

The 41-year-old was also arrested back in 2016 for driving with a suspended license, police said at the time.

In that situation, he was allegedly involved in a car accident and fled the scene, before being taken to Scottsdale City Jail and later being released.

Suggs played an impressive 17 years in the NFL, earning seven Pro Bowl selections.
