A pregnant influencer has sparked furious debate after revealing the list of very unique baby names that she has considered for her unborn daughter.

Jaci Marie Smith, who is based in California, took to TikTok to tell her 826,700 followers about the eight monikers she had contemplated for her child.

The list included the likes of Dove, Zo and Charm - but viewers were left bitterly divided about the suggestions.

Some appreciated the unconventional names but others asked whether the clip was 'satire' and quipped: 'Was this an April Fool's joke?'

Jaci's suggested list of baby girl names

  1. Dot
  2. Kit
  3. Leo
  4. Rio
  5. Dove
  6. Zo
  7. Charm
  8. Melrose

In the clip, which has so far been viewed more than 695,000 times, Jaci wasted little time in reeling off her list.

'First one is Dot. This has been on my list forever,' she began.

'This wasn't "the" name I had in mind, but it's definitely been up there and once I got pregnant that didn't feel like her name - but I still think Dot is such a cute name.

'Next is Kit. I think this is just really cute, classic, short.

'I think that I found out about this name through American Girl dolls when I was really young, and I still love it.'

Moving on to another thought she had, the content creator continued: 'Leo. I think this is so cute for a girl.

'I don't know if I've ever met a girl named Leo but I can picture it and it's really cute, especially if she was a Leo... Could be iconic.

'This rhymes but Rio. I met this girl - she was a waitress at a restaurant that I went to and she was super cute and her name was Rio and you know when you just meet someone, and they fit their name, and you're like, "I love it?"

'That's how I felt about her, so I have thought it was so cute ever since then.'

But Jaci was not finished there as she shared: 'I love the name Dove. I just think it's really pretty and classic and timeless and very feminine.

'I think the name Zo is really cool. Zoe is a really cute name too but I feel like Zo is maybe a little bit different than what I've heard and I love Zs. I love the letter Z - I think it's so cool.

'I feel like having just a two-letter name is kind of a vibe.'

Elaborating further on other naming thoughts, the mom-to-be added: 'Ending off with my ones that I feel like are a little more controversial...

'Charm. I've never heard of someone named Charm. I think it's cool.

'If I met an adorable little girl named Charm, I would think that she's iconic.

'Lastly, Melrose. This is a street in LA. I think it's just objectively a cool word, and a really pretty name.

'I feel like you could call her Rose. You could call her Mel. You could call her Mellie. You could call her Rosie or you could just call her Melrose.

'It also feels like feminine and cool girl to me.

She concluded: 'Those are my names. 'Obviously, I'm going to use none of these for my child but I don't know if that gives any indication of my style. I feel like it's kind of all over the place with names.

'If something hits, I write it down in my notes app. We'll see what sticks.'

She captioned the video: 'Girl names on my list!! Ending with more unique ones.'
