A mother was left baffled to discover her new PrettyLittleThing skirt was 'big enough to be a sleeping bag' after it swallowed her whole body when she tried it on, leaving only her head poking out.

Naomi Lashington, from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, was excited when an outfit for her upcoming holiday was delivered but when she opened the package she was 'dumbfounded' by one item's size.

The 30-year-old says she kept unfolding the fashion brand's Charcoal Ruched Hem Maxi Cargo Skirt like a 'fruit winder' before filming her reaction to trying it on.

Her footage shows the annoyed charity worker holding the £4 skirt in front of her to show how it stretched up to her chin.

Unable to wear it on holiday, she joked that it would be suitable for the BFG's wife to wear, and that she she could 'hang it up as a curtain'.

A second clip showed her stepping into the 'oversized' skirt and pulling it up until only her neck and head were poking out of the top.

She hopped backwards to show it looking like a 'sleeping bag' before turning to show its stylish rear slit which Naomi said stretched all the way up to her bottom.

The mother-of-one hoped to wear the maxi skirt on a trip to New York a fortnight ago and said it spelled the end of her shopping on PLT after a number of sizing issues.

Naomi's videos have been viewed more than one million times with users in stitches at her description and comedic modelling of the bizarre-looking garment.

However, she apparently returned the item and received a refund.

Naomi had planned to wear her new item for a holiday to New York a fortnight ago. She said: 'I was annoyed by it because I had the idea for my outfit and New York is like a fashion capital so I wanted to style it with a t-shirt'

As well as a sleeping bag, the mother-of-one suggested she could put the skirt on her son's bed as a duvet, or hang it up as a curtain

Naomi said: 'It was literally the same size as me and I'm 5'2". So whose lower half is 5'2"?

'I had that excitement when you get an order delivered but when I opened it up the skirt was like a fruit winder. It kept coming and coming.

'When I filmed the try-on video that was my natural reaction because I didn't expect it to go under my chin.

'You can tell it's oversized on the website but I didn't realise it would be that oversized.

'It's a ruched skirt so you can pull the sides up a bit but even if I did that it wouldn't fit.

'I was laughing and shocked. I just thought: "What the hell is this?". I was dumbfounded.

'The sheer size of it is so funny and the split was practically at my backside.

'I could have put it on my son's bed as a duvet.

'I was annoyed by it because I had the idea for my outfit and New York is like a fashion capital so I wanted to style it with a t-shirt.

'I won't trust buying anything from PrettyLittleThing again because I've spent more time sending things back and waiting for a refund than enjoying the clothes.'

The product is still for sale on the fast fashion website, where it is paired with a bodysuit and heeled boots and is described as having a 'ruched hem design' and 'maxi length' - which means it flows down to the wearer's ankles or the floor.

Naomi bought a £60 Nike skirt to wear instead and says she's pleased her hilarious videos have made people laugh.
