Have you always wanted to be an officer with the Central Intelligence Agency? Well, you're going to have start getting into the best shape of your life as your every day workout routine isn't going to cut it for the agency's requirements.

The CIA is currently looking for ultra-buff individuals to join their ranks as an executive protective agent - but the role requires applicants to complete an annual fitness test that will have you sweating like you never have before.

The perfect candidate will go through an 18-month training program and should be able to do a minimum of 27 sit-ups and 18 push ups in one minute or less. 

You will also need to drag 168-pound dummy to safety in less than two minutes, run a quick mile, and be extremely proficient in at least one of the CIA's 'critical' languages.

Want to be in the CIA? Here are the requirements 

  • Run a mile and a half in under 15 minutes
  • Do 27 sit-ups and push ups in under one minute
  • Drag a 168-pound dummy to safety in under two minutes
  • Have three years of experience as a criminal investigator 
  • Be proficient in one of the critical languages 
  • Be over the age of 18 

Additional fitness requirements mean that applicants will also need to be able to do a one and half mile run in 15 minutes and 20 seconds or less. 

The person should also boast a degree in either criminal justice, criminology, sociology, emergency management, homeland security, police science, criminal justice administration, or psychology and possess at least three years of criminal investigative experience focused on 'complex matters.'

The successful candidate will join a team of existing agents who offer 24/7 armed protection for personnel worldwide, 365 days of the year.

This means that you must use your issued weapons and equipment while at work. 

However, you shouldn't plan on having a social life and should say goodbye to your pals because you will have to be on a the clock constantly. 

You'll be required to work overtime, night shifts, weekends, holidays and always be available to travel overseas.

Anyone looking to apply must also be over the age of 18, be an American citizen and be willing to move to Washington, D.C.

The salary ranges from approximately $66,654 to $122,459, however, you will get paid for overtime and receive premium pay benefits too.

Other requirements include not having used illegal drugs in the past, having considerable knowledge of criminal and administrative investigative techniques and being able to assemble and analyze large quantities of data.

This successful applicant will also be able to discern key issues and draw appropriate conclusion as well as having foreign language proficiency. 

The 'critical' languages of the CIA include Arabic, Dari, Korean, Persian, Somali, Chinese, Indonesian, Pashto, Turkish, Urdu and Kurdish.

According to the CIA website: 'Individuals who want to learn how to become CIA agents in the agency's clandestine services must meet the requirements for the Clandestine Service and Professional Trainee Programs.

'The Professional Trainee (PT) Program (for staff operations officers and specialized skills – targeting officers) is designed for individuals who possess a bachelor's degree with no significant work experience. Most candidates are between 21 and 25 years old.

'The Clandestine Service (CST) Program (for core collectors, operations officers and collection management officers) is designed for individuals with a bachelor's degree, as well as several years of business/military experience. Most candidates are between 26 and 35 years old.' 

The ad reads: 'As an Executive Protective Agent for the Central Intelligence Agency, you will be part of a team that provides 24/7/365 armed protection for Intelligence Community leaders world-wide.

'You will serve on teams at foreign and domestic sites, liaise with foreign security officials, operate armored security vehicles, analyze threats in order to modify protective profiles, and utilize issued weapons and equipment.

'As a CIA employee, you'll also get the satisfaction of knowing your work is part of something bigger than yourself. Our work is driven by one mission: to keep our Nation safe.

'Every day is an opportunity to enhance US national security.'
