Did you know it's possible to get banned from Sephora?

It's not just the TikTok tweens who are obsessed with Drunk Elephant at risk of being blacklisted for their bad behavior - it's actually easier than you might think.

Jennie Pham, who's based in California and previously worked as a manager at the beauty chain, shared a video on TikTok about the store's policy under her username 'green eggs and glam.'

'Hi, ex-Sephora manager here confirming yes, you can be banned from making returns at Sephora,' Jennie, 26, warned her 217,000 followers.

Jennie said, 'What matters is the dollar amount of what you're returning.'

The content creator explained that she left the retail beauty chain in March, and the policy was: 'If you return more than $2,500 of product in the last calendar year, you will get banned.'

Jennie said that while you can call customer service to complain, 'When you call that number, they'll be like, "Girl, you're done."'

However, it is possible to continue shopping at Sephora if you simply make a new account with a different phone number and email address, which she called 'a very simple workaround.'

Jennie also confirmed that these returns are not put back on the shelf, and instead are destroyed in a controversial, environmentally-damaging process.

'Every return, if it's touch or damaged or the seal is broken, the item is destroyed,' she said, confirming that these items are not donated for 'safety purposes.'

'Just be responsible with how you're purchasing and how you're returning,' Jennie advised.

The beauty content creator also worked as a manager at Ulta in the past, which she said did not have the same policy and has a better return and exchange policy than Sephora.

'Getting banned, it's a little embarrassing,' the creator said at the end of her video.

The video has since received one million views and almost 70,000 likes with plenty of comments - although the response was mixed, as some people thought the policy was a bit harsh.

One commenter explained, '$2,500 is not a lot considering every item is at least $100,' as another broke down that it would be about $208 a month.

Another disagreed, 'I mean I worry about my $10 returns but $2,500 in a year?!? That's A LOT of returns.'

'It's not my fault I can't shade match and neither can the employees,' one woman snarked.

'Honestly if Sephora wants to prevent over returning, they need to bring back samples. My Sephoras NEVER give samples,' a commenter suggested.

Another blamed it on content creators, writing, 'It's probably the influencers that take back a whole haul.'

'10 billion in revenue. I'll return what I want,' one popular comment read.

Some ex-employees also shared their horror stories.

'I worked at Sephora. We had a lady buy an entire range of an expensive brand and return it a week later... She was filling the pots with Nivea. Her getting banned was euphoria,' a commenter claimed.
