Donald Trump's former National Security Advisor John Bolton reveals who he will vote for in November and it will not be his former boss or Joe Biden

Donald Trump's former National Security Adviser John Bolton says he will not be voting for his former boss come November, but that does not mean he will be voting for President Biden. 

Bolton has said he wrote in Dick Cheney went he cast his ballot in 2020, and he'll do it again.

Bolton made the revelation for the first time during an interview with CNN with Caitlin Collins.

'Well I might as well say it now, I voted for Dick Cheney,' Bolton said of former President Bush's vice president. 'And I'll vote for Dick Cheney again this November.'

Bolton served as Trump's national security adviser in the White House in 2018 and 2019 but has since become a fierce Trump critic.

He's described the ex-president as unfit for office and accused him of only caring  about his own self-interests. 

More recently, Bolton even suggested Trump is susceptible to blackmail due to his mounting legal troubles. 

Bolton said he wrote in Cheney because he was a 'principled Reaganite conservative and he still is.'

Bolton said age is no longer a 'disqualifier' in American politics, so it doesn't disqualify him.

Bolton said he would not vote for Trump in 2020 but he also will not vote for President Biden

Cheney is 83 years old, even older than Biden, 81, and Trump, 77. 

As Bush's vice president Cheney was an instrumental figure in pushing for the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

Bolton said he hopes revealing who he voted for sways the electorate and helps prevent both Trump and Biden from winning.

The conservative former aide also he may even vote for Cheney's daughter former Congresswoman Liz Cheney at some point.

'Well I like Liz a lot, and you know, maybe someday she'll get my write-in vote too, but right now I'll stick with her father.'

During the interview, Bolton also weighed in on conservatives Republicans tanking a key procedural vote on Wednesday after Trump urged them to kill the controversial surveillance law, the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, better known as FISA.

The Section 702 of FISA is up for reauthorization. 

The law allows U.S. intelligence to collect communication records of foreigners overseas, but it also has been used as a backdoor in allowing the FBI to search data collected for Americans' information who are swept up in foreign surveillance. 

Trump took to Truth Social telling Republicans to 'KILL FISA.'

The move by some Republicans to block FISA also blocked an amendment to the law coming to the floor that would have added a warrant requirement to the law for Americans' data.

Bolton blasted Trump in the interview saying Trump was uncertain about FISA even when they were in the White House together.

He argued it shows Trump 'doesn't understand' U.S. national security.

'He understands Donald Trump security, that's what he cares about,' Bolton said.
