The sobbing girlfriend of a Wyoming teenager who was stabbed to death protecting her at a mall broke down as she paid a heartbreaking tribute.

At a vigil for slain Robert 'Bobby' Maher, 14, his heartbroken girlfriend described him as 'the bravest boy' and 'the best boyfriend', who had 'no hard feeling for anybody.'

'Me and Bobby, we had so many plans for the future,' she said through tears.

Maher was held down and stabbed with a kitchen knife at a mall on Sunday, after Dominique Harris and Jarreth Plunkett, both 15, allegedly targeted the teen following a confrontation at a park in Evansville two weeks prior.

The teen's girlfriend reportedly called him to warn him that the two suspects were following her and her friends around a mall, leading him to race to the scene to protect her before he was stabbed.

Bobby had reportedly gone to the mall to help his girlfriend with another friend, and an affidavit stated they did so to 'keep the girls safe.'

His heartbroken family described him as an 'angel', as his girlfriend paid an emotional tribute to him at the vigil through tears.

Speaking of the attack that led to Bobby's death, she said: 'I'm sorry for everyone that had to witness that.

'I want to give a shout out to his family, because I know he loved them so much. Me and Bobby, we had so many plans for the future.

'I never thought I'd be saying all this so early. I also want to thank my family for being there for me, and my dad for giving me a hug at the hospital.

'Bobby would be so proud of everybody.'

The issue that allegedly triggered the attack came at a park two weeks prior during spring break, where Maher was said to have called Harris and Plunkett 'freaks' for going into a port-a-potty together.

Harris later told police that Plunkett asked Maher's friend if he wanted to fight them to pay his 'blood debt' after the argument at the park.

When the two alleged attackers then went to the Eastridge Mall together, they stole Red Bulls, sour candy, and two kitchen knives from Target, the reported arrest affidavit stated.

According to police, the duo 'had taken the knife knowing they were going to fight (Maher).'

When Bobby and his friend arrived, they reportedly saw the two suspects walking near his girlfriend and her friends, and he 'kept telling' them to leave while trying to hurry the girls away.

At that point, Bobby's friend told police that Harris and Plunkett attacked, beginning with Harris allegedly 'slamming' him to the ground.

Bobby was allegedly ordered by Plunkett to 'swing on him' several times, but he 'clearly did not want to fight as he is seen moving in a continuous backwards motion away from' the danger, the affidavit said.

He allegedly told Plunkett to 'put the knife away' because the fight 'wasn't fair', to which he responded: 'I don't fight fair', Plunkett told cops, according to the State Cowboy Daily.

Plunkett then allegedly 'walked up and stabbed' the 14-year-old with a 'kitchen style knife', believed to be one stolen from Target.

Footage of the incident reported by Fox News also reportedly showed the two alleged attackers wearing balaclava-style masks as they pounced on him at the mall.

They reportedly dumped the blood-soaked knife and their balaclava masks in the parking lot, but were arrested the same day and charged on Monday.

They are set to be tried as adults, with Plunkett charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to murder, aggravated assault and shoplifting.
