The Texas Rangers announcers did not hold back on umpire Angel Hernandez when he made one missed call after the other on Friday night.

The defending World Series champions built a quick 8-1 lead over their rivals, the Houston Astros, on top of the fourth. With the lead, Texas loaded the bases for rookie Wyatt Langford.

However, Hernandez then called a 2-0 cutter a strike - despite being outside the zone. Shortly after, Astros pitcher JP France threw almost the exact pitch twice, prompting the announcers to comment during the broadcast.

'You have got to be kidding me!' Rangers Bally Sports Southwest play-by-play announcer Dave Raymond. 'What in the world?!'

'This is just bad,' analyst Dave Valle said. 'Three consecutive pitches well off the plate.

'That's just so obvious. That was terrible.'

The Rangers-Astros game was not Hernandez's first dreadful assignment early into the MLB season.

The umpire starred in a controversial strike call on Gleyber Torres in Sunday's Yankees-Blue Jays showdown. Although New York still secured the 8-3 win, the call did not sit well with the fanbase.

Hernandez also made a questionable call in a game between the Mets and the Tigers when he claimed Detroit's Spencer Torkelson swung the bat when he appeared otherwise.

Nevertheless, his questionable decisions did not affect the Rangers, as they secured a 12-8 win over Houston.

The victory improved the Rangers to an 8-6 record. Meanwhile, the Astros dropped to a 4-11 start.
