A man with a knife who had attacked two migrants on the border near El Paso, Texas over the weekend was shot at by a national guard member.
The shooting took place after an unidentified Indian National Guard member saw a man with the knife on the US side of the border stabbing two migrants, according to a security bulletin obtained by News Nation.
Soldiers from several states are deployed to the Texas border in support of the Lone Star State's effort to bring down illegal border crossings.
It's not clear whether the armed man was actually struck by the bullet, but he was seen running back into Mexico.
The two migrants who were stabbed had non-life threatening injures and received medical care.

The incident comes during a time of increased tension along that particular stretch of the international boundary.
A riot broke out just a few miles from where the shooting happened last month after members of the Texas National Guard were punched and stomped on by hundreds of migrants who forced their way past them.
Asylum-seeking migrants were trying to surrender to US Border Patrol, however, the Texas National Guard has put in place fencing that prevents migrants from doing so.
