A newlywed bride tragically died at her wedding bash in Brazil this weekend just hours after tying the knot with her fiancé.
The tragedy occurred on Sunday afternoon at a property in the city of Limeira in the state of São Paulo, when Elisangela Gazano, 38, lost her balance and fell into a swimming pool at a rented country house where she was hosting a party.
Not only were the guests celebrating Gazano's marriage the day before, but also her daughter's birthday.
Local reports said the non-swimmer had been dancing by the water's edge when she slipped and fell into the water and immediately began to panic.
Her fellow revellers tried to rescue her and called the emergency services, but Gazano went into cardiac arrest as she was rushed to hospital and was declared dead on arrival.

In June 2022 newly-wed Marina Morgan died on her honeymoon in a horror buggy accident.
The buggy overturned while husband Robbie Awad was trying to do a U-turn.
He was uninjured but Marina, 29, died at the scene despite desperate efforts by a doctor and an off-duty firefighter to save her.
The accident took place on Whitsunday Boulevard at the northern end of Hamilton Island, Queensland.
Robbie now faces four charges over the crash, with his trial scheduled for July 5 and 6 following a series of negotiations between Mr Morgan's defence lawyers and the prosecution.
It will resume on July 11 and 12 if it cannot be finalised in two days.
Mr Awad and Ms Hanna were celebrating their honeymoon on Hamilton Island after their large church wedding in Sydney on June 11.
Bystanders including an off-duty firefighter, a doctor and dentist tried to save Mrs Morgan at the scene for 35 minutes but were unsuccessful.
A helicopter called to take her to Townsville hospital was stood down after the severity of her injuries was realised.
Mr Awad's case was first mentioned in Proserpine Magistrates court in December 2022 and he was granted bail, the Courier Mail reported.
He pleaded not guilty to causing his wife's death and has sought new representation since last year.
