A bride-to-be has sparked fierce debate after splitting her wedding guests into groups of A-listers and B-listers - with the latter only receiving an invite to watch the ceremony on Zoom a week after it takes place.
An exasperated woman, from the US, took to Reddit's Wedding Shaming thread to dish on how her friend had managed her guest list.
She explained that she found herself in the secondary group of guests who were not invited to see the vows in person but were instead invited to a viewing party the week after the big day.
But the bizarre system, which the guest branded as 'so tacky,' caused quite the stir among readers.
A bride-to-be has sparked fierce debate after splitting her wedding guests into groups of A-listers and B-listers - with the latter invited to watch the ceremony on Zoom a week later instead
In the post, shared to the discussion forum last week, the guest explained: 'One of my friends who I was closer to before I moved is getting married in a different state and is choosing to have quite a small wedding.
'Totally cool, I'm not here to get mad at not being invited to the nuptials, having a close knit ceremony is everyone's prerogative!'
She continued: 'However, a larger group of us got an invitation to watch a recording of the ceremony with the bride and groom on a Zoom meeting a week later.
'In my mind, this is so tacky. Who wants to attend a Zoom session and watch a ceremony that already happened with the rest of the B squad and not even get rewarded with a party after?
'I like her but in my opinion, if you want a small wedding, that's what you get.'
Elaborating yet further in the comments, the unnamed woman said: 'Setting up a livestream for people who were explicitly not invited to attend seems bizarre to me.
'Anyway, I've already resolved to just send a card lol.
'I think these two probably are blinded to how this comes off by their excitement, so I probably won't hold it against them, as long as they don't get mad at me for declining their Zoom watch party.'

One person wrote: 'The offer of a live stream for anyone who can't make it is a nice gesture. What they did is bonkers.'
Another commented: 'Zoom her a video of the gift you would have brought to the reception.'
A third person added: 'Someone probably thought this was a nice idea (because everyone thinks our wedding is as important as we do). It's not.'
Someone else wrote: 'There is no person in the world whose wedding I would want to watch on Zoom a week later as a B-lister. That's a no from me, dawg.'
Another added: 'Jesus f**king Christ. It can be a struggle to attend Zoom meetings for work. No way I am going to a Zoom wedding.'
One person commented: 'Etiquette varies! This may be acceptable in her circle. Unbelievable - friend must have been raised in a barn.'
Another person added: 'People really think they are special lol. It is your wedding. Nobody cares to watch it over zoom after it happened.'
'I legit thought it was going to be a live stream via Zoom and was like, "yeah that's okay." But a week later?!?!?! No,' one person wrote.
'So could you watch from home where you can eat popcorn and make snide remarks, or were you actually expected to go somewhere and behave yourself,' another person comedically commented.
One user humorously suggested: 'Zoom her a video of the gift you would have brought to the reception.'
