Smooth, plump cheeks. Wrinkle-free foreheads.
These are the features we've become accustomed to among celebrities obsessed with Botox and filler.
But a new look is emerging in Hollywood: sunken in eyes, gaunt cheeks and saggy skin.
Experts say it is due to the rise in popularity of weight-loss drugs. The side effect has been dubbed 'Ozempic face'.
Famous lothario Scott Disick scared fans last month with his dramatic new look — but a number of other celebs appear to be suffering from the same issue.
Scott Disick shocked the public when he emerged looking gaunt and malnourished - prompting some to question if he was abusing the weight-loss drug Ozempic
Jessica Simpson (pictured in 2020, left, and 2023) also had Ozempic face, the surgeons said, because she had more sunken cheeks than earlier
Fans have shared their concerns about whether Sharon (pictured in 2020) is 'ill' following her 3st weight loss after taking drug Ozempic, which is used to treat diabetes
Dr Smita Ramanadham, a plastic surgeon in New Jersey, told DailyMail.com: 'Ozempic face is essentially the same characteristics that we see when patients have rapid or regular weight loss.
'We see a loss of volume in the face, and when we lose fat in the face we see signs like the cheeks are more sunken in, more sagging skin and a general hollowing out of the features.
'Sometimes, it can have the effect of actually making a person look older — because the fat in our cheeks is what gives us a more youthful look.'
Dr Sue Decotiis, a weight loss expert who has prescribed Ozempic to thousands of patients, added that weight loss looks more dramatic on those with longer faces because of the way the skin is stretched.
More than nine million prescriptions for Ozempic were written in the last three months of 2022 as the drug takes the US by storm.
John Goodman, 71, is an example of 'Ozempic face', or how the face changes after rapid weight loss, experts said because of the deflated appearance of his cheeks and his sunken eyes. They also pointed to more wrinkles on his face
Robbie Williams revealed he lost 25lbs on Ozempic (left in 2013 and right last year). Surgeons said the more pronounced lines on his face as well as the hollowing out of the cheeks were signs of Ozempic face. One expert said he looked more like an 'old man' now
The surgeons — who also included Dr Nicholas Jones, a plastic surgeon in Georgia — were shown pictures of fifteen celebrities who had had recent weight loss transformations, and said more than half — mostly men — had Ozempic face.
It was harder to tell with women, they said, because they have traditionally been more likely to use fillers and to cover up imperfections with makeup.
Top of the list was John Goodman, who the experts said had drastically less facial volume and, as a result, more loose skin that had formed wrinkles.
Dr Ramanadham said: 'He hasn't been in the news for anything on Ozempic, so I don't know if it's that...
'But even with just weight loss you see more lines, more wrinkles, and more deeflation in his face as he loses weight compared to when he was heavier and his face was fuller.
'These changes are just very typical of overall weight loss regardless of whether weight loss drugs were used.'
The 71-year-old John has lost 200lbs over more than a decade which he has put down to eating smaller portions, a daily walk with his dogs and at one point cutting sugar and alcohol from his diet.
He has not said he used Ozempic, although pictures emerged of him at an airport in New York City this month appearing particularly gaunt.
Scott Disick — who is heavily rumored to be on Ozempic — was also on the list, with doctors pointing to the sunken areas beneath his eyes.
But surgeons said it is unusual for weight loss drugs to cause such a dramatic change in his appearance, suggesting other factors may be at play — including if he was using the drugs aggressively.
They also ranked Robbie Williams among the the celebrities with Ozempic face, with Dr Ramanadham saying: 'You can see a hollowing under the eyes and the cheeks and more wrinkles appearing because of a loss of volume. With Robbie, you can see the direct results of weight loss.'
Jesse Plemons is pictured above in 2022 and again in 2024. In both images, he is attending the Oscars. The star has attributed his weight loss to intermittent fasting
Liam Payne pictured above in 2015 and 2023, plastic surgeons said the chiseled features on his face suggested he had had a buccal fat removal, or removal of the fat pad in his cheeks, rather than had Ozempic face
Dr Decotiis added: 'He looks like a totally different person! He has a longer face, which means the weight loss is definitely making him look very drawn.'
The 'Angels' star, 50, revealed his 25lbs weight loss last year — saying it was due to 'something like Ozempic' and calling the weight loss a 'Christmas miracle'.
Among women, both doctors said Sharon Osbourne, also 71, was the most dramatic example of Ozempic face — after the star revealed she lost 42lbs on Ozempic and then 'couldn't stop losing weight'.
'Her eyes look more sunken in, her cheeks have more hollowing,' said Dr Ramanadham. 'There is a significant loss in facial volume as well, and more wrinkling that is associated with it.'
Both also pointed to the nasolabial fold — or line running from the side of the nose to the corner of the mouth — which they said had become more pronounced.
On Jessica, Dr Jones said: 'When you look at the earlier photo, her face is much fuller and has more volume.
'But when I look at the later photo, her eyes, her face, is more sunken, her cheeks are not as full. Her face looks a little emaciated, actually, like she has been starving.'
Jessica has never said she used a weight loss drug, but previously revealed between 2019 and 2020 that she had lost 100lbs.
The surgeons were also asked to look at Liam Payne, 30, to tell whether his reduced facial features were due to Ozempic.
But they said this was more closely linked to buccal fat removal surgery, or when the fat-pad is removed from the cheeks. His chiseled features suggested he had not gone through significant weight loss.
Dr Jones said: 'When someone loses a lot of weight, they can end up with a lot of loose skin. But this isn't the case with Liam.'
