A black Georgia inmate has sued multiple jail guards after footage emerged of him being choked with a chain and being told that he would be put in a 'cotton field'.
Tremar Harris, 37, has filed a lawsuit against jail guards Daydan Brannon, Cannon Mcleod and Ansley Fennell for allegedly standing by and watching Officer William Rentz strangle him with metal handcuffs, according to court documents.
Footage from a small room in Appling County Jail shows Harris restrained in a chair by his wrists, ankles and torso as all four of the accused surrounded him.
Harris had reportedly freed his right arm from the chair which led to Rentz using extreme measures to restrain him, according to the lawsuit.
Video shows Rentz picking up handcuffs and holding them across Harris's neck - causing him to struggle for air.

While Rentz (pictured) has not been sued, but he has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault, battery and violation of oath of office. He has also been fired from the Appling County Sheriff’s Office
Rentz is then seen bending down towards the victim's face and saying something while holding the metal chain over his neck in a tight grip.
According to court documents, Rentz told Harris that he was 'gonna put him back in the cotton field with the other boys' inferring that Harris was a slave worker.
The lawsuit alleges that while Brannon, Mcleod and Fennell had the 'ability, opportunity, skill and time to prevent and immediately stop Rentz from strangling Harris', they instead chose to 'stand by and watch' and did not intervene.
Furthermore, the threesome have also been accused of 'failing to document and report the unlawful use of force'.

Harry Daniels, Harris's civil rights attorney later said: 'These three officers had a legal and a moral duty to protect Tremar Harris. But they did nothing.
'Instead of doing their jobs stopping this unlawful, hateful and sadistic act, they chose to stand and watch as their fellow officer tortured a fellow human being.'
The lawsuit also states that Harris has suffered 'economic damages, severe mental anguish, emotional and physical distress' due to the event.
The victim is seeking compensatory and punitive damages and has demanded a trial by jury. A court date has not yet been set.
