'The Tortured Poets Department. An anthology of new works that reflect events, opinions and sentiments from a fleeting and fatalistic moment in time - one that was both sensational and sorrowful in equal measure.'
She added, 'This period of the author’s life is now over, the chapter closed and boarded up. There is nothing to avenge, no scores to settle once wounds have healed.'

The Tortured Poets Department has a total of four versions, as well as a 16 songs and a bonus track titled The Manuscript.
Since the announcement of the album, she's revealed three additional versions of The Tortured Poets Department: The Bolter, The Albatross and The Black Dog. Each version - which could be pre-ordered by listeners - also contain an exclusive track.
