The supermarket chain Aldi is known for its heavily discounted good quality groceries, but the superstore is also known for another unique quality.

Aldi-lovers come from far and wide to descend upon the German-born discount grocer, with many shoppers crossing state lines and traveling for hours to snag the bargains Aldi has to offer.

Alongside shelves of pantry goods, fridges of produce and freezers full of other goods - Aldi has an aisle in the middle of the shop that features random stuff that is usually completely unrelated to the groceries on sale.

Shoppers have dubbed the random selection 'the aisle of shame' - as Aldi fans find the shelves of cheap finds irresistible.

'If you are new to Aldi - you need to know about the Aldi Finds aisle,' a keen shopper shared on TikTok

'The Aldi Finds aisle is right in the middle of the store and you never know what you're gonna find,' the TikToker explained.

Seasonal items and kitchen gadgets are some of the things that pop up on the shelves - as well as toys, home decor and 'just about anything you can think of,' according to Kelsey Rank on TikTok.

Rank filmed the aisle in early January - when Aldi was capitalizing on New Years resolutions by offering exercise equipment, planners and meal-prep things.

She shared that her favorite items from the aisle of shame are pet supplies and the Aldi three-wick-candles - which are only $5.

'You let the Aldi finds aisle tell you what you need,' she said.

Aldi has garnered a cult-following - and people on social media love to share and view hauls and vlog their shopping excursions.

When an item found in the aisle of shame goes viral online, shoppers swarm to their closest Aldi to get their hands on the product - before it runs out and is never sold again.

The miscellaneous mix of stuff is replaced weekly, usually on a Wednesday, and the company told CNN, 'Fans love our ALDI Finds aisle because it takes the average grocery trip from errand to adventure.'

Caitlyn Pratt is an Aldi super-fan. She says, 'In the south, we call it the 'aisle of sh*t, because on unnecessary things, I probably spend like $150 at Aldi every time that I go there,' Pratt told CNN.

Her purchases have ranged from outdoor rugs, patio sets, planters, lanterns, candles, cookware, pillows, pet beds to pet clothing

'When my friends come to my house they don't even ask me anymore where I've got some new things. They know it's Aldi,' says Pratt.

There is even an entire Facebook group for members of the Aldi community to share their weird and wonderful finds.

Recent posts have included Bridgeton themed coffee creamers, a pet hoodie that says 'ALDI,' a campervan cat bed and a whole pizza oven.

One shopper showed off their new earrings, picked up on the aisle of shame, which are little dangly bedazzled tequila bottles with tiny limes.

Aldi is quickly becoming a fierce competitor for other big chains - such as Walmart, Costco and Target.

The supermarket has taken over small towns and big cities with its no-frills marketing and low prices.

Selling cheap limited edition unique items is a great way to build a customer base who want to keep coming back to see what's going to be in store each week, and the cult following Aldi has garnered goes to show the success the store has had.
