An OB/GYN doctor practicing in Washington state has been charged with the rape of an underage female family member, which prosecutors say has been going on for more than six years.

Vulihn Ta, 51, is accused of raping the family member more than 15 times in a hot tub when she was 11 years old or younger.

The female victim, who is still underage, told police the doctor would buy her video games in a bid to stop her telling anyone about the alleged sexual assault.

Court documents say the abuse occurred between the years of 2017 and 2024, with the most recent sexual assault happening in early April, Fox 13 Seattle reported.

The sexual abuse allegedly began when Ta got a habit of following the victim after she took showers. This abuse went on for several more years, only to seemingly escalate once the home had a hot tub installed, according to court documents.

The relationship between the victim and the gynecologist is unknown.

When police asked the victim how many times she was raped in the hot tub, she said 'more than 15' times and more than 20 times since 2019, according to the outlet.

The victim also told police that Ta would purchase her new video games to buy her silence, according to the documents.

She showed authorities a list of six receipts for video games bought in 2022 - all with Ta's billing address listed - and told them those were days when Ta raped her.

The victim tried to decline Ta's offers of video games in exchange for sex multiple times, but she told police 'he would just force me to and buy the items anyways,' the Kitsap Sun reported.

The Kitsap County Sheriff's Office arrested Ta on April 12 at his $1million home in Bremerton, Washington.

Legal documents online show that Ta's wife, who he lived with, filed for a Civil Protection Order on April 15 in Kitsap County Superior Court.

She then filed for a divorce on April 19, records show.

DailyMail.com has reached out to the county's sheriff office, as well as the Kitsap County Prosecutor's Office for comment.

Ta has worked at MultiCare OB/GYN Associates as a faculty member since 2018, according to his LinkedIn, reports KitsapSun.

Before that, he was a staff OB/GYN at Naval Hospital Bremerton.

MultiCare confirmed that it put Ta on leave pending an investigation, and he appears to no longer be included in its list of medical providers.

'We take these allegations of criminal behavior by a provider very seriously and are conducting a thorough investigation,' said Scott Thompson, a spokesman for MultiCare.

As of Sunday, Ta is in custody at the Kitsap County Jail.

He's pleaded not guilty and his trial has been tentatively set for May 28.

Ta faces up to life in prison and $80,000 in fines if he is convicted.
