Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay has disputed a police report that suggested he suffered an overdose when in December he was found blue, unresponsive and gasping for air.
Irsay said in February that was he was 'on the mend' and 'grateful for all the messages of love and support' after the Colts revealed the 64-year-old was receiving care for a 'severe respiratory illness'.
Indiana police were reportedly dispatched to Irsay's home at around 4.30am on December 8, after someone had found the billionaire lying unconscious with a blue skin tone while gasping for air.
According to TMZ, he also had constricted pupils when officers arrived. The Colts owner was taken to the hospital, with the police labeling the incident an 'overdose' and 'overdose/poisoning.'
'It is unknown what Mr. Irsay had ingested prior to our arrival,' the police report added, per TMZ. But Irsay has hit back, insisting: 'It wasn't an overdose'.

He told Fox59: 'I don't know why when you have your name in the paper in the past, people throw that out there quickly. I don't pay attention to it all that much, but I don't think it's fair.''
The 64-year-old claimed that the incident in December spiraled after he 'treated a leg injury'. It's said he has since undergone 'major' surgery for a back and leg problem, which consigned him to the hospital him for some time.
'I know what the situation is,' Irsay told Fox59. 'It's not a situation like that. I've had 27 surgeries in the last seven or eight years. No one ever wants to talk about that.
'What people don't realize is when you have real medical issues that are orthopedic, they are so easy to point to me being overdosed or addiction-related or what have you.'

He added: 'It's unfortunate because (the police) really don't have the information in that speed of time when you're checking (someone) into the hospital and it's an overdose or it's this or that... the bottom line was the leg needed to be taken care of immediately.
Ahead of this week's NFL draft, with the Colts holding the 15th pick, Irsay sought to reassure supporters that he remains in control of his franchise.
'I'm in good shape and … I have my hands on the reins in a strong way,' he said.
'I see a Colts team coming back with prime ammo. It's really exciting to see what can be done this year.'
