Taylor Swift may have accused ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn of shattering her dreams of marriage and children in stinging new lyrics on her album, The Tortured Poets Department - but the British actor will retain a modicum of silence, and has no plans to react, insiders claim.
Joe, 33, has never publicly discussed his split from the singer, 34, whom he dated for six years from 2017 until their breakup in April 2023.
But Taylor has seemingly bared her soul about the break down of their romance on her latest album - which dropped last Friday - with insiders claiming Joe has been left 'disappointed' and has banned any mention of the singer from the upcoming press tour for his new film, Kinds of Kindness.
'There has been absolutely zero contact between them,' a source exclusively told DailyMail.com 'She did not run these songs by him, but he did not expect her to.
Joe Alwyn was not warned about the content of Taylor Swift's new album, The Tortured Poets Departments, ahead of its release last Friday, according to sources
The singer has seemingly bared her soul about all the things she believes went wrong with their romance, reportedly leaving Joe 'disappointed'
'Joe has listened to the album, and he is slightly disappointed, but not surprised at all.
'She didn’t really trash him or defame him. Joe is not going to react to this.'
Taylor, who is now dating NFL champ Travis Kelce, mostly retreated from the spotlight during her time with Joe, with the super private pair rarely pictured in public together.
They won a Grammy for Album of the Year in 2021 after Joe co-wrote and co-produced a number of tracks on her album Folklore under the pseudonym William Bowery.
They were also nominated for the same award a year later for Evermore.
The insider explained that Joe was more than aware of Taylor's song-writing process thanks to the tracks they had created together.
'Taylor draws on her relationships for almost all her songs and he admires her artistry,' the insider added.
'He has made a ton of money off the six songs that he wrote for Taylor in the past and he is grateful that their relationship also helped to make him a household name.'

'Joe has listened to the album, and he is slightly disappointed, but not surprised at all,' a source told DailyMail.com
Taylor's album comes just two months before the release of director Yorgos Lanthimos' upcoming movie, Kinds of Kindness, in which Joe stars alongside Oscar-winner Emma Stone as her love interest.
'He has a movie coming out that he is focused on,' the sourced stated. 'He will be doing press – but will not be entertaining any Taylor questions.
'Joe has moved on. He is not holding any grudges against her for doing what she does. He knows that it was par for the course.'
In previous years, the Boy Erased actor refused to publicly discuss their relationship.
'People on the street wouldn't tell strangers about their personal lives, so why should I?' he said before they split last year.
In 2022, he told Harper's Bazaar that he 'can understand' the interest in their relationship as he is a public figure, before adding: 'but I don’t see why these questions should always be answered.'
'I completely expect people to ask those questions, if I’m putting work into the world, of course people are going to ask about that,' he added.
Joe has never discussed his relationship with Taylor, whose new album appears to accuse him of cheating and shattering her dreams of marriage and children
Taylor has since moved on with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce (pictured in February)
But despite being split for a year, Taylor's latest record has increased speculation about their romance, with the song appearing to accuse Joe of cheating and shattering her vision of the future in songs including So Long, London and Fresh Out the Slammer.
After TTPD dropped, Taylor shared a statement about letting go of the 'sensational and sorrowful' time that inspired the album.
'This period of the author's life is now over, the chapter closed and boarded up,' she wrote. 'There is nothing to avenge, no scores to settle once wounds have healed.
'And upon further reflection, a good number of them turned out to be self-inflicted.
'This writer is of the firm belief that our tears become holy in the form of ink on a page. Once we have spoken our saddest story, we can be free of it. And then all that's left behind is the tortured poetry.'

The album also appears to reference her brief dalliance with The 1975 frontman Matty Healy in the weeks after her split from Joe.
Lyrics refer to a man in a 'Jehovah's Witness suit' – Matty is known for his distinctive black suits – and typewriters, which feature on stage during his live shows.
There is also mention of drug use. The frontman, who is now dating model Gabbriette Bechtel, has talked openly about substance abuse in past interviews.
Their fling, which neither party confirmed, ended as fast as it began after Taylor received a backlash from fans over Matty's 'bad boy' image and 'racist' impressions on a podcast.
