Concern is growing for a New Mexico man after he disappeared alongside his dog after appearing to take to the Grand Canyon's Colorado River on Sunday.
Thomas L. Robinson from Santa Fe has not been seen since he left his champagne-colored 2001 Toyota at Lees Ferry, a site often used to launch white water rafting trips, in the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area on Sunday.
The National Park Service believe Robinson, 58, may have attempted to travel down the enormous river on a homemade wooden raft.
A picture of the device released by the service shows three patterned wooden planks loosely cobbled together, as well as a paddle and a life vest.
A missing persons investigation has been launched and those with any information related to the case are encouraged to contact the Grand Canyon Dispatch Center.
