Heartwarming reunion between calico cat from Utah and her owners after she traveled nearly 700 miles to Los Angeles by sneaking into an Amazon package.

Calico kitty Galena disappeared from couple Carrie and Matt Clark's suburban Salt Lake City home on April 10.

The family searched their entire house, neighborhood, nearby walking trial and surrounding areas with no trace of her.

A week after she went missing, the Clark's were stunned to be notified Galena's microchip had been scanned in Los Angeles.

'She had jumped/hidden in one of our Amazon return packages without us knowing. She was mailed to a return center in California and trapped in a box and trailer for six days,' Carrie said on Facebook.

'Galena miraculously survived without water and food for six days. Her bloodwork was completely normal! Despite being skinnier she is completely unharmed.'

Brandy Hunter's coworkers at a local Amazon warehouse found Galena and called her to help with the rescue.

'We have gotten some crazy things in my time here but NEVER anything like this,' Hunter said on Facebook.

'I finished driving home, picked up my badge, my cat carrier, a blanket, some cat food and food and water dishes and drove to work to see if I could catch this beautiful baby.'

Hunter said Galena was very scared in the new environment, but warmed up to her help.

She took the calico cat to the veterinarian's office the next morning where they scanned her microchip and connected Hunter with the Clarks.

'We called from the vet's office and at first [Carrie] thought someone got her number from the missing cat poster and was pranking her because the story is so wild,' Hunter said.

'She didn't believe it that her baby was still alive and had traveled all the way to California until she spoke to me and I explained how and where I found her. Both her and her husband absolutely broke down and so did I, in the middle of the vet's office.'

The Clark's immediately booked a ticket to Los Angeles and drove another hour-and-a-half straight to the vet's office from the airport.

Hunter recorded the heartwarming reunion between Galena and her owners. Although scared, Galena recognized the Clarks and welcomed their pets and cuddles.

'After getting the vets approval and a game plan Matt, Galena, and I packed up the rental car and drove 10 hours together back to Utah. We finally made it back home on Friday after traveling 1400 miles in 24 hours to get our kitty back,' Carrie said.

Galena suffered mild dehydration and was not eating, but came away from her travels with no other injuries.

Carrie said the side seam of the Amazon package, containing a box of CAT footwear, split so Galena could breathe and ideal weather temperatures contributed to her being able to survive.

'I’m so relieved everything turned out okay and I got my sweet pet back. Galena is a huge emotional support to me and members of our family,' Carrie told DailyMail.com

'It’s a miracle she’s safe after everything she went through. God knew I needed her a little longer. Please microchip your pet and triple check those Amazon packages.'
