But she got way more than she bargained for when she fell head over heels for 27-year-old deliveryman Alec Hoffman.
A woman who decided to ask her Grubhub delivery driver on a date has revealed the pair are now getting married
Back in 2022, Hannah Bullerman, from Blaine, Minnesota, called in sick from work due to a migraine and decided to order food - but she got way more than she bargained for when she fell head over heels
'I had a migraine,' Hannah told People. 'I didn't want to make lunch and I happened to see I had a coupon for 20 per cent off and I love a good coupon.'
She said that she was 'kind of stalking' the deliveryman's location and decided to head out to the lobby of her apartment building to meet him at the door.
But Alec ended up calling Hannah who was still dressed in her pajamas.
'I looked kind of grubby and gross and thought, shoot, he wants to give it to me in person,' she explained. 'I'm walking down the stairs and I see his face and was like, "Oh my gosh, he's cute!"'
Alec handed over the food and Hannah went back to her apartment but continued to think about their brief exchange.
She debated sending him a text since she had his number but admitted: 'I didn't want to come off creepy or really aggressive. But I wanted it to be known that, hey, I would be interested in maybe going on a date or whatever.'
And, in the end, she decided to bite the bullet.
Hannah sent a message to thank him for the food before concluding: 'I hope you have a day as nice as your face.'
The pair, who had not been actively looking for a partner at the time, went to a sports bar on their first date before going bowling
She shared: 'It was so unlike me. I still can't believe I did it, but it was just a visceral feeling in my stomach. He just had very kind eyes'
The couple are now set to tie the knot on May 17, 2025 - with Grubhub even making a generous $5,000 contribution to the wedding budget

Alec, who is also a home health care aide for veterans, has since revealed that he was caught off guard by the message but he replied nonetheless.
'I just said, "Hope my service was 10 out of 10" and throwing in cheesy jokes so she knows that's who I am.'
'She took the reins and good on her for that,' he reflected. 'Nice and bold.'

And they have not looked back since.
Alec romantically proposed to Hannah on a boardwalk, surrounded by wetlands, while they were celebrating their year and a half anniversary, and Kjerstin Thea Photography captured the magical moment.
The lovebirds made an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show in March to tell their story - scoring a honeymoon to Fiji in the process.

Alec concluded by urging others to take a chance, reflecting: 'Send that risky text, but don't look too hard. I think people try too hard to find the right one. At least in my case, the right one will come when you're least expecting it.'
