A woman in the Bronx who attempted to take money out of an ATM was shocked to see it was filled with homeless people who looked to be on drugs.

She walked up to the Bank of America facility in Fordham and saw three men slumped over in front of the machines.

The woman filmed the incident and shared it on TikTok where it has been viewed over 30,000 times.

'I hate it here,' she is heard saying as the camera pans to the homeless men who are seen on the floor.

The woman attempted to go inside the ATM before she discovered the homeless men in front of the machines.

Footage shows the men are unresponsive, slumped on the floor and possibly on drugs. 

'I hate it here so bad,' she is heard saying. 'I really need to get my f****** money out of the ATM. I hate it here.'

'I wouldn't go in there,' one user commented.

'This makes me so sad,' a third said.

While a fourth commented: 'So do they think people [are] going to actually go in take money out with them in there?' 

Drug overdose deaths in New York surged during the pandemic largely from illicit fentanyl and similar synthetic opioids.

In 2021, 30 New Yorkers per 100,000 died from drug overdoses. New York’s opioid overdose death rates exceeded national rates in both 2020 and 2021.
