KFC has sent fans into a frenzy after debuting its very own BBQ-scented perfume.

The fast food chain unveiled its signature scent called No 11 Eau De BBQ in the UK this week - but it has already sold out.

The 100ml bottle, that retails for a modest $13.82, was described as being 'a limited-edition perfume with smoky wood, and charcoal notes, that embodies the essence of a classic BBQ experience.'

'We've all been there – that unmistakable aroma of a BBQ drifting through the air, tantalizing our senses and leaving us craving the taste of smoky goodness. But what if you could capture that irresistible scent in a bottle?' KFC wrote of its bizarre offering.

The signature scent comes in a sleek black bottle that is adorned with elegant red vertical lines that accent the label's border and features KFC's logo.

The only catch for Americans is that it is currently unavailable in the US.

The first wave completely sold out - but the fast food giant is now offering potential purchasers the chance to preorder.

As an added motivator to give the new scent a try, '100 per cent of proceeds go to The KFC Foundation, supporting grassroots organizations across the country that are empowering young people to unleash their potential, and build a positive future.'

Foodies have taken to social media in their droves to share their mixed reactions to the unique scent.

Some fast-food enthusiasts were captivated by the interesting scent as one person wrote: 'Because nothing says Fried Chicken like the smell of BBQ?'

A second person commented: 'Must get.'

Another added: 'Why is the KFC perfume not on Fragrantica?'

But, on the other hand, other commenters were not a fan of the launch.

One person wrote: 'No thanks!! I don't want to smell like a meat market.'

A second person added: 'WHO THE F*** WANTS TO SMELL LIKE BBQ LMFAOOO?'

Someone else commented: 'This is unfortunate,' and a fourth person added: 'Don't want to know about it.'

Referencing April Fool's Day, another wrote: 'I feel like this should have rolled out on April 1.'

A second person quipped: 'I knew it!! Another one ticked off on my 2024 bingo card!'

Someone else reflected: 'So... KFC has a perfume that can leave one "tipsy with hunger." What a time to be alive.'
