A Walt Disney World restaurant has become the first theme park restaurant to win a Michelin star - although one reviewer says she left the $400 extravaganza still hungry.

First opened in 1988 at the ritzy Grand Floridian Resort in Orlando, Florida, Victoria & Albert's offers a seven-course tasting menu at $295 per person that lasts for three hours, with a strict policy barring children under 10 years old.

An upgraded dinner with two extra main courses costs $375.

Unsurprisingly, it's not easy to secure a seat at the most magical place on earth, with some guests booking 60 days ahead only to find the experience disappointing.

YouTube creator Kristen Wright, who snagged a seat earlier this year, said in a video review: 'We all pretty much left hungry. I know a couple of us were like should we go to McDonald's.'

In a video review of the ritzy dining experience, Wright said a seven-course tasting menu in Victoria & Albert's main dining room costs $295, while the chef's tasting menu - which combines two extra main courses - is $375.

On top of this, there is an optional wine pairing, which comes in at $155, while a non-alcoholic curated drinks selection costs $115.

Some of the surprising things she discovered on her magical dining adventure, included Victoria & Albert's water menu, with bottles sourced from different regions of the world, and she also tried sea urchin, caviar and quail for the first time.

But despite being a cheese lover, Kristen said she ended up giving a selection of different cheeses away as she mused: 'This was the this was the only course that I genuinely disliked.'

Led by Chef de Cuisine Matthew Sowers, the culinary team created dishes including 'tarts set with New Zealand langoustine, striking sandwiches made with venison carpaccio and red cabbage, and bold sauces like cherry-cola bordelaise.'

Alongside Sowers overseeing the sweeter side of the kitchen is Pastry Chef Ally Rogers, crafted breads and desserts for several Disney resort kitchens over the past four decades and now leads the entire pastry team for the resort.

The restaurant pays close attention to details including water lists, an ornate coffee and tea service, and a serious wine program featuring more than 500 bottles of wine from 35 regions.

Chef Sowers said in a statement: 'It's an incredible honor to be recognized by MICHELIN for the innovative dining experience our team brings to life here at Victoria & Albert's.'

'Everybody on our team earned this Star, from our stewards to our culinarians to our pastry chefs, and we hope to inspire future generations of culinary professionals to follow their dreams,' he added.

The iconic restaurant has captured the attention of Disney fans worldwide, as well as culinary enthusiasts like Kristen in recent years.

The best dessert, she said, was the fastelavnsboller (a Danish carnival bun), which reminded her of a 'cream puff except it was crispy outside.'

The other sweet offerings included a miniature raspberry Bakewell pudding, and a gingerbread madeleine.

Overall, Kristen said her dinner at Victoria and Albert's was good but she wasn't left impressed with every dish in the meal, saying: 'There were a lot of standout dishes but overall there was only one dish that absolutely blew me away.

'I kind of expected to be blown away with every bite that I took. I don't know if I was just going in with unreal expectations but that is my honest feedback.

'I'm not sure if it's because maybe the meal took longer than expected... [It was] like a six-hour meal.'

Despite her qualms, Kristen recommends Victoria & Albert's, as it serves up a 'one-of-a-kind super unique experience and the level of service was 'top notch' throughout.
