A 'surprise' appearance by former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick stole the show at the Netflix roast of Tom Brady.
Belichick was introduced by Will Ferrell (who played his character Ron Burgundy) and came out to a song adjacent to the Imperial March from Star Wars.
'Ron Burgundy, the only member of the media I respect,' Belichick joked before going into his set.
'There's a lot of mean things being said about Tom tonight, I wonder why they invited me,' Belichick said.
When he got into things, he joked about Birmingham City - the English football team Brady bought - as well as Brady's friend and dietician Alex Guerrero.
Bill Belichick took some swings at Apple and his former players at the roast of Tom Brady
'Seriously, I'm so honored to be here for the roast of Tom Brady on Netflix... not to be confused with the 10-part Bill Belichick roast during the Apple TV doc.'
That's a reference to 'The Dynasty', an Apple TV documentary that seemed to skew negative in its portrayal of Belichick.
The coach then turned his attention to his former tight end, Rob Gronkowski, and brought up an old mantra they used: 'Do Your Job'.
'Gronk, I've been watching you on Fox NFL Sunday. And I'm begging you, please, stop doing your job,' Belichick said to applause.
Then, of course, he turned to Brady: 'People say Tom and I butted heads a lot,' Belichick began. 'It was hard to butt heads with Tom because he was so far up Alex Guerrero's a**.'
He then burned Birmingham City, who recently got confirmed for relegation after a poor season. 'For those not familiar with English football... let me put it in English for you: they suck. Not so easy running a team, is it Tom?'
Belichick concluded: 'For all of you out there that think about who's responsible for the Patriots' success during the time Tom and I were there. Was it Brady? Was it me? Was it Brady? Was it me? In reality, the truth of the matter is it was both of us —because of me.'
