Lauren Sanchez stepped out with fiancée Jeff Bezos at a party ahead of the annual Met Gala, rocking a skimpy black number in the wake of Anna Wintour's reported criticism of her fashion sense.
Sanchez, 54, and Bezos, 60, were in attendance at the Monse Maison Pre-Met Cocktail Celebration held at La Mercerie in New York City Sunday night.
She wore an eye-catching black, sheer, skin-tight dress that seemed to thumb her nose at Wintour, who is rumored not to be fond of the sort of ensembles she typically wears.
The pair briefly stopped for photos with fashion designer Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim, the creative director for Oscar de la Renta.
The Amazon multi-billionaire founder's fiancée has also come under fire from other famous New York society types such as salty restauranteur Keith McNally.

DailyMail.com reported last week that Wintour has decreed that the soon-to-be Mrs. Bezos can come to the 75,000 and $350,000 per table ball only if Wintour has a say in what she wears.
An insider recently told Wintour's biographer Amy Odell the famously exacting editor knows Sanchez has 'poor taste,' and keen to personally help her select a dress.
Sanchez is notorious for wearing the sort of ensembles that leave little of her gym-toned, surgically-enhanced assets to the imagination.
'Anna doesn't always get personally involved in what guests wear,' wrote Odell, adding that she was working with Sanchez to choose between custom designs by the classically stylish Oscar de la Renta and two other as-yet-unnamed designers.
Perhaps Sanchez's photo with Oscar de la Renta creative director Kim was a nod to Wintour's wishes.
Given that celebrities have often worn wild outfits to the Met Gala, Wintour's rumored slam amounts to a resounding declaration of no confidence.
Wintour is not alone in her critique of how Sanchez dresses, apparently, as broadcaster Megyn Kelly recently said she 'looked like a hooker' in Milan and she continues to feel the brunt of Keith McNally.
On Sunday, New York's best-known restaurateur McNally took to Instagram to deliver a half-hearted apology and dragged those who criticized him for recently commenting on Sanchez's looks, having called her 'absolutely revolting'.
'Of course it's wrong to criticize someone you don't know - sorry Hitler - especially when they're as wholesome and natural as Sánchez looks in the photo above,' McNally said.

'Apologizes for my April 15th post where - due to being Stone Cold Sober - I called the helicopter-flying beauty "revolting-looking."'
'Joking aside, just because Sanchez may have spent a fortune on plastic surgery doesn't make her "revolting." In fact most of the revolting people I know haven't spent a penny on plastic surgery,' he said.
In his April 15 post, McNally seemingly unprovoked, posted a serious of pictures of the couple with the caption, 'Does anybody else find Jeff Bezos' New wife - Lauren Sanchez - ABSOLUTELY REVOLTING?'
'What an ugly and F***ing SMUG - LOOKING couple they make. Is this what having 1000 Billion dollars does to people?'
On Sunday, McNally went on to call out people who spoke in Sanchez's defense, including her celebrity pals.
'Although 90 percent of the 3,000 comments I received from my Sanchez post were light and funny - and in the vein of the post - the comments I received from other billionaires' wives were Unfunny and Weird,' McNally said.
'The Unfunniest was from the wife of comedian Jerry Seinfeld (whom I adore) - Jessica Seinfeld. Seinfeld must have been embarrassed by her comment because she quickly deleted it.'
'Here's part of it: "THIS POST IS A REFLECTION OF YOUR TWISTED, PITIFUL, AND HIDEOUS MIND. LAUREN HAS TWICE THE CHARACTER YOU DO."'
New York City restauranteur Keith McNally slammed those who criticized him for calling Lauren Sanchez revolting
'"Twisted, pitiful, and hideous." The f****r must have read my memoir,' he said.
Since her affair with Bezos was revealed in 2019, she has dipped her toes into philanthropy.
In March, she became vice-chair of the Bezos Earth Fund financing research on biomanufacturing and climate change.
The couple have also instituted a $100 million Courage and Civility Award for people serving the community. Winners have so far included Dolly Parton and actress Eva Longoria.
They made their first public appearance together in May of 2019, and four years later, they got engaged in May 2023.
The bride-to-be opened up about the moment Bezos asked her to marry him in an interview featured in the November issue of Vogue.
She recalled how he popped the question on his yacht after they enjoyed a romantic dinner under the stars together.
Bezos hid the pink diamond engagement ring under her pillow, and she admitted that she almost 'blacked out' when she saw it.
Sanchez said they were in the early stages of planning their nuptials, noting that she was more focused on the billionaire's 60th birthday party at the time.
