A shelter in place order was issued at Muhlenberg College in Pennsylvania amid reports of an armed suspect on campus - but it's been revealed it was a hoax call.
The liberal arts college on the outskirts of Allentown has around 2,000 undergraduate students. No one was injured during the hoax ordeal.
Four nearby schools were placed on lockdown as a precaution. They were William Allen High School, Raub Middle School, Muhlenberg Elementary and Union Terrace Elementary.
The school's campus police posted on social media just before 12:30pm: 'Police report an armed suspect on campus.

'Muhlenberg community members: SHELTER IN PLACE.'
According to local reports, while police swept campus 'the nearby Wells Fargo Bank on College Drive was robbed.'
Muhlenberg College was founded in 1848 and now spans across a 82-acre campus in a residential Allentown neighborhood.
It's known for being in the top 100 liberal arts colleges across the US, according to recent rankings.
