She told US TV show Extra: 'It's been amazing to work with Wes and his team and to be dressed by Carolina Herrera, which is a brand that is so inspiring because it was created by a woman, a Latina woman who is a symbol of female empowerment to me and my community so it is really amazing to be here.
'This is my first Met Gala. I've been invited many times but it never happened, there was always something. So finally, I was able to come and I'm so excited!'
The 'Objection!' hitmaker admitted that she felt 'great' in the striking red dress and joked that if she had had a 'love child' with the major fashion company then that probably would have been the result.
'There's so many people here. I feel great and I think that if Carolina Herrera the brand and I would've had a love child, this would have been it. This is where we meet.'

'This year's co-chairs reflect a variety of career achievements, and all have distinct style histories with the Met Gala,' Vogue shared.
The showcase features approximately 250 items drawn from The Costume Institute's permanent collection — with many of the pieces too fragile to ever be worn again.
The pieces will all be displayed using elements such as AI, GCI, and more while playing up themes of land, sea and sky.
'It is very much an ode to nature and the emotional poetics of fashion,' said Andrew Bolton, Wendy Yu Curator in Charge of The Costume Institute, of the upcoming exhibition.
'One thing I hope this show will activate is that sensorial appreciation of fashion.'
