A Michigan man realized he had a winning Lucky For Life lottery ticket in the middle of the night.
Donald Heilig, 69, has been identified as the winner of a $390,000 lottery prize off a ticket he bought at Hub Sports Bistro in Macomb Township.
According to Click On Detroit, Heilig's numbers matched the digits on the white balls that were drawn on April 19: 05-08-24-28-34.
'I play lottery regularly, usually Daily 4, but on April 19, I decided to try Lucky For Life,' Heilig told the outlet.
'It really was hard to know if I was dreaming or if I had really won big because it was the middle of the night.'
Heilig showed the ticket to his wife the following day, and after they scanned over it 'at least 10 times,' the couple went to claim their prize at the Michigan Lottery Headquarters.

Lucky For Life is one of the many lottery games that anyone in Michigan and 25 other states can play just by purchasing a $2 ticket online or in-store.
The drawing for the Lucky For Life game takes place daily, and its current top prize is $1,000 a day for life.
Players who match all five winning numbers can win the top prize, while others who match the chosen digits but not the Lucky Ball will win $25,000 a year for life.
Heilig, who won the $25,000 a year for life prize, decided to receive a lump sum of $390,000 instead of the annual payments.
He revealed to Click On Detroit that he plans to buy his wife a new car with the lottery winnings and will save up the rest.
There is more than one way for someone to claim a winning lottery ticket, and depending on a player's winnings, they can simply receive the money online.
In Heilig's case, he needed to claim his prize at the Lottery headquarters in Lansing since he was receiving more than $100,000.

The Mega Millions and Powerball jackpot prizes have not been awarded to someone in Michigan since 2021.
According to Michigan Live, members of the Wolverine FFL lottery club claimed a $1.05 billion jackpot in March of that year.
It's also best to double-check lottery tickets as soon as the winning numbers of a Mega Millions drawing are selected.
One person who bought a 2023 winning ticket in Southfield did not claim it and what would've been their prize of $41 million went to Michigan's School Aid Fund.
If Heilig had not brought in the lottery ticket by the deadline, he, too, would have lost out on his prize winnings.
