An Oklahoma man has been arrested after he confessed to killing a 19-year-old teen in 2016 during a routine welfare check by highway officials.
Joseph Tyler Beck, 28, admitted murdering Jennifer Kyli Molloy after he was found on the side of Interstate 40 near the Reno/Scott Street exit by Oklahoma Highway Patrol on May 3.
Beck was taken to the Edmond Police Department and charged with first-degree murder after police said he confessed to strangling and murdering Molloy.
The young woman had been found dead in her apartment on October 5, 2016.
At the time, the Edmond Police Department considered the case to be a 'suspicious' incident and after multiple failed leads, no arrests were made till now.

In a Facebook post, officials wrote: 'A routine welfare check by Trooper Matt Snyder #828 turned into much more on Thursday. A passerby reported someone sitting on the side of I-40 near the Reno/Scott Street exit.
'Trooper Snyder stopped to check on the man who began voluntarily telling him about his involvement in a 2016 Edmond death. Troopers transported 28-year-old Joseph Tyler Beck to the Edmond Police Department.
'Beck was interviewed by Edmond detectives who placed him under arrest for first degree homicide for the death of 19-year-old Jennifer Kyli Molloy.'
Since the accused's arrest, the Molloy family said they were 'shocked' and 'blindsided' by the arrest.
The grieving family further said that they thought the case would never get solved.
'A complete blindside,' Johnny Molloy, the victim's father told NEWS4.

Court documents have revealed that Beck new the victim for years, which was later confirmed by family members and that the two were former co-workers

Beck further admitted to officials that Molly had allowed him to come inside her apartment after he invited himself on the day of her death.
He said that he made romantic advances towards the young victim but she kept refusing and asked him to leave.
According to documents, Beck told detectives that he became violent and killed Molloy because he felt as if she 'had wasted his time'.
'Everybody knows him. Everybody thinks he was the sweetest person and never would do anything to anybody. What kind of sick individual does that?
'The good Lord works in mysterious ways, and he’s haunted that man every day, and I hope he continues to.
'This man has taken so much from my family and I’m glad he’s in jail and I want justice to be served swift and strict,' said the grieving father.
Beck is being held at Oklahoma County Detention Center. A court date has not yet been set.
