A faculty member at Arizona State University has been put on leave after he was seen aggressively confronting a female pro-Palestine protester.

Post-doctorate research scholar Jonathan Yudelman was filmed getting close to a woman wearing a head scarf and screaming at her at a pro-Israel protest near campus on Sunday.

When the woman said Yudelman was disrespecting her religious boundaries, he replied: 'You disrespect my sense of humanity b**ch!'

Yudelman appeared to continue to follow the woman as she seemed to be trying to get away.

It's not clear what happened before or after the filmed interaction.

Various pro-Palestine activists have shared the video on social media as they asked for the university to fire Yudelman.

As reported by 12News, Yudelman taught two courses at ASU last year: Great Debates in American Politics and Great Ideas in Politics and Ethics.

ASU said in a statement: 'ASU is aware of the allegations against Jonathan Yudelman and is investigating them.

'Dr. Yudelman is on leave and will remain so pending the outcome of the investigation.'

DailyMail.com has reached out to ASU for comment on this story.

Before Yudelman's outburst, he was interviewed by 12News and said he attended the pro-Israel rally to counter the message of pro-Palestine protesters across the country.

'I'm faculty... it was important to come out and make a statement for the community,' he said.

'I see what's going on across the country... campuses being taken over by supporters of terrorism [and] Jewish students being intimidated.'

The Council on American-Islamic Relations not only called for Yudelman's firing but also his arrest.

CAIR-AZ Executive Director Azza Abuseif said: 'CAIR-Arizona strongly condemns Professor Jonathan Yudelman’s alleged harassment of an American Muslim woman near a pro-Israel demonstration.

'We call on Arizona State University to terminate his employment if these allegations are verified, and we call on law enforcement to investigate and file any appropriate criminal charges.'

Police cleared a pro-Palestinian tent encampment at the University of Chicago on Tuesday after administrators who had initially adopted a permissive approach said the protest had crossed a line and caused growing concerns about safety.

Tensions have continued to ratchet up in standoffs with protesters on campuses across the U.S. — and increasingly, in Europe — nearly three weeks into a movement launched by a protest at Columbia University.

Some colleges have cracked down immediately on protests against the Israel-Hamas war. Among those that have tolerated the tent encampments, some have begun to lose patience and call in police over concerns about disruptions to campus life, safety and the involvement of nonstudents.

Since April 18, just over 2,600 people have been arrested on the campuses of 50 colleges and universities, according to figures based on AP reporting and statements from universities and law enforcement agencies.
