Emily Ratajkowski, Doja Cat, and Rita Ora are just a few of the stars to free the nipple at last night's Met Gala.

Like it or not, the revealing look has become somewhat mainstream on the red carpet with the sartorially rebellious.

In real life, however, it's not the most accepted - or safest - option when sporting a trendy sheer look.

Phoebe Dynevor, however, tastefully pulled off a peek-a-boo look in a custom Victoria Beckham light and flowing gown for this year's Met Gala theme of Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.

The first to wear a VB design to the big event was an honor the actress and "Bridgerton" star (a Spice Girls fan since childhood) did not take lightly.

'It's like something out of a fairytale,' said the natural beauty.

The semi-transparent masterpiece featured hundreds of hand-cut flowers hand-stitched onto delicate tulle and vintage lace.

Designed to be worn with nothing underneath, built-in flower patches were strategically placed under the first layer covering her modesty.

To achieve this look at home with 'tricky' outfits, have a few nipple coverings on hand at all times.

Pasties are the secret weapon for real women wanting to go braless but still want to cover their nipples.

Plunging shirts, dropped armholes, backless dresses, and semi-sheer fabrics could all benefit from nipple coverings.

While the round, sticky adhesives will not provide the same kind of support as a bra, they do offer other perks.

Traditional styles were made for smooth, undetectable coverage and sometimes lift,  in an array of skin tones.

But covering up doesn't have to be boring!  Brands like Tita offer self-adhesive, ulta-thin silicone patches in fun shades and colors that were designed to be seen.

'Nipple covers are often thought of as a practical or necessary undergarment, but who says they can't be fun?,' asks Martha Upton founder of Tita

'Nipple covers are often thought of as a practical or necessary undergarment, but who says they can't be fun?,' asks Martha Upton, founder of Tita.

Adding: 'They can also be worn under sheer clothing, whether subtly showing through, or really the star of the outfit.

'Because Titas are made to be seen, but seamless enough to be hidden, you can wear them in so many ways. '

Fashionable nipple covers can also be worn in place of traditional undergarments.

'It's the same reason why lacey bras or lingerie was invented. Whether anyone sees it, you feel so much more put together and attractive when you are wearing those things.'
