The former musician, 56, who is the daughter of Mamas & the Papas band members John and Michelle Phillips, has been open about how she turned to drugs and alcohol as a teen after being 'abandoned' by her drug addict father at a young age.
In addition, her half-sister Mackenzie once claimed that her father had raped her when she was just 19 years old - before engaging in an incestuous relationship that lasted nearly 10 years.
Now, Chynna has shared new details on her childhood as she reflected on her relationship with her family in a new video shared to her YouTube channel.

In it, the star revealed that she and a family member, who she did not name, were no longer speaking.
She explained that while she was 'kind of sad' about it, she was 'at peace' with their decision to 'take a break' from one another.
'I feel like both of us just sort of needed a break and I'm at peace with it but it's a struggle because obviously I love this person and I don't want there to be any hard feelings between us,' she dished.
'I think that we both understand that this is something that needs to [happen] right now.
'We just kind of have to let it be and not fight it and not try and manipulate the situation in any way to try and make us both feel better.
'Sometimes it's really healthy to just say I need some emotional distance right now to be able to get a timeout and to be able to break apart the puzzle and put it back together again so I can see it with fresh eyes.
'I'm listening to the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit is telling me that it's important that I take a pause, so that's what I'm doing.'
Chynna then explained that she and her family members were all healing from their pasts 'in different ways.'
Chynna (seen as a kid with her mom) said, 'There were many blessings in our situation - but there were also many curses and many things that I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy'
Chynna added that despite having 'scars,' she 'wouldn't change anything' because she believes her past 'shaped her into the person she is'
'Just like any family, my family has its complex trauma and we've all come out of it in different ways,' she said.
'We all had different experiences and we all did our best with what we were given. And what we were given in many instances was painful and traumatic.
'We had the tools that we had and we did the best with what we were given and there were many blessings in our situation - but there were also many curses and many things that I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy.'
Chynna added that despite having 'scars,' she 'wouldn't change anything' because she believes her past 'shaped her into the person she is.'
'Families are like a beautiful mosaic or tapestry and each little patch is important and I wouldn't throw any one little patch away,' she continued.
'I feel like my family is so strong and we've persevered in so many ways and we are scarred - I know for sure that I am scarred, I have had to lick many wounds, but I don't think I would change it for anything.'
The star called it 'liberating' to be able to admit that she needed a break from the person, and that she 'has to trust that love is waiting on the other side.'
'For me, sometimes I panic and I think that's it, this person's never going to want to speak to me again or I'm going to be abandoned because that's my story,' she added.
'It's scary but I love that I'm able to hear that small voice saying to me, "It's time for you to take care of you."
'I'm just being obedient and diligent in my prayers right now and just trusting that everything is going to unfold exactly the way it's supposed to.'

'My relationship - or lack thereof - with my dad, really impacted me as a child. I had a lot of abandonment issues, and I just didn't understand why I couldn't have a father around like some of my other friends did,' Chynna previously told TV Guide in 2017.
'At the time, everyone was keeping me from the big secret: that my dad had this drug addiction.
'I felt so hurt and scarred on the inside, that I ended up turning to drugs and alcohol as a teenager, to put a bandage on my emotions. I didn't know how to deal and that was just me trying to cope.'

In 2022, the star also spoke in detail about how her father's 'horrible, horrible addiction to drugs and alcohol' marred her childhood in a YouTube video.
She said her dad was 'obviously very troubled and tortured,' and 'did some things' and she 'knows he's not proud of.'
'My relationship with my father was so complicated and so tragic, I just wish things could have been a whole lot different, but they weren't,' Chynna said.
'My dad was an incredible person, he was a really, really special human being, [but] he was obviously very troubled and tortured.
'He had a horrible, horrible addiction to drugs and alcohol, and did some things that I'm not proud of and I know he's not proud of to say the least. But I have to tell you that he held a very special place in my heart.'
