Caitlin, who documents her unusual home on TikTok, explained that her friend bought a house on a property a few years ago, and it came with a bonus bunker.

'I just pitched the idea, "Hey, why don't you just rent it to me? And then when you guys want to sell the place, we'll know that everything's in good working order down there,"' she explained to Realtor.

'I just figured with the cost of housing right now, and the interest rates, I'll just stay here for a year,' she says. 'And see if everything kind of calms down a bit.'

Utilities are covered in the bunker too, as water is in a well and everything is powered with solar panels.

Entrance to the home is from one of the two hidden trap doors on the ground - although Caitlin notes there is not a doorbell and she only uses one door.

She also assures concerned fans it is a private residence and despite it being on a paved area, it's not a carpark so no one is going to leave their vehicle on top of her exit.

Although the front door is very heavy, there are two separate areas of the bunker when you walk through.

One side is set up like more of a living room and kitchen, with the main bedroom and one of the bathrooms at the other end.

In her TikToks, Caitlin has opened up about how she functions day-to-day in the bunker - including how her dating life fares.

In a recent video, Caitlin admits she had a potential beau - but he was frightened by the prospect of visiting her in her underground home.

'I known this guy for a little while, and when he found out that I was relocating back to the area, he asked me on a date,' she explained.

'I didn't tell him where I lived when we were talking, and then during the day he's like, where did you move to, and I start telling him,' she continued.

Caitlin said her date looked at her like he didn't 'quite understand' what she's talking about.

'I think he thought I was talking about some kind of theme department or something,' she joked.

She enthusiastically went to show him, but when she walked down the stairs to  open the bunker door, he was still standing at ground level.

'I asked, are you coming down?' she recalled. 'And he's like, "you know, I don't think so."'

Though initially worried she came off looking 'like a serial killer,' she realized bunker living maybe isn't for everyone.

'So, maybe this is just the year I don't date anyone,' she joked.
