Jewish singles say they are being targeted for on dating apps as they are grilled on the Israel-Palestine conflict by matches who demand to know if they're Zionists and mock their ethnicity.

Itamar Edelman, 34, told The Free Press that when he messaged a woman on Hinge, her first response was: 'Hey! This is unfair because I don’t throw this question to everyone on Hinge but. . . thoughts on IDF?'

Jake Williams, 32, had a similar experience on Grindr after he matched with a guy named Eric.

When Williams sent his match a selfie that showed his Star of David necklace, Eric shifted the conversation to Palestine.

'Do a lot of people ask you about Palestine?' Eric said. 'What’s your opinion?'

Harry Markham, 24, describes himself as a 'charming Jewish boy' on the dating apps, and says that since the October 7 Hamas' attacks, about half his matches have asked him about Israel.

'They say, "Before we go any further—are you a Zionist?"' Harry claimed.

Meanwhile a student in New York told The Free Press that he was targeted over a Star of David he added on Grindr next to his name.

A guy he matched with messaged him: 'Get that dumbass flag out my messages pls.'

When the student asked what flag, since there was no flag on his profile, the match replied: 'The Israeli flag since ur too dumb to figure it out. So pls be on your way.'

Other Jewish singles told the outlet that they feel they have to answer for Israel's actions as matches demand they denounce Zionism.

Daniela Aguinsky, a 30-year-old who lives in Argentina, says she sent a message to a cute boy that read, 'What's up, kid?'

She was shocked at the reply, which read: 'Horrified by the genocide in Gaza. And how are you doing?'

Tensions have continued to ratchet up in standoffs with protesters on campuses across the U.S. — and increasingly, in Europe — nearly three weeks into a movement launched by a protest at Columbia University.

Some colleges have cracked down immediately on protests against the Israel-Hamas war. Among those that have tolerated the tent encampments, some have begun to lose patience and call in police over concerns about disruptions to campus life, safety and the involvement of nonstudents.

Since April 18, just over 2,600 people have been arrested on the campuses of 50 colleges and universities, according to figures based on AP reporting and statements from universities and law enforcement agencies.

The confrontations come as campuses try tactics from appeasement to threats of disciplinary action to resolve the protests against the Israel-Hamas war and clear the way for commencements.
