A billionaire's ex-wife has slammed a 'humiliating and demeaning' divorce offer of hundreds of millions of dollars.

Jenny Paulson, former spouse of hedge fund manager John Paulson, insists she deserves half of her ex's $4.7 billion fortune.

In an email obtained by Page Six, Paulson wrote that her former partner's offer after 24 years of marriage was 'too demeaning' and slammed plans to award her daughters more than her.

'In my heart and my spirit I feel I deserve a 50/50 split' she wrote, '60/40 is OK because there have been other similar divorce arrangements.'

Much of Paulson's ire stems from the fact she would stand to gain much less than the couple's two children through the arrangement.

Paulson, 68, is currently engaged to new  fiancée Alina de Almeida, 35, following his split with the mother of his children

'The idea that I should receive less than the children is humiliating and demeaning because this is the message that it gives to the world and to my own daughters,' she said. 'You don't give the person the dignity of being your partner.'

She claimed her ex was only offering five percent of the wealth accrued during their marriage.

However, he countered that his offer would still make her one of the richest women in America.

The investor made his money by betting against the housing market prior to the 2008 collapse.

Sources told Page Six his offer would provide Paulson with hundreds of millions of dollars up front, plus more over time.

They would then split their property and assets, including their vast property portfolio, which include estates in Aspen and the Hamptons.

The couple split in 2021 and began private divorce proceedings which collapsed, as the email from 2022 shows.

In the messages, Paulson referred to a 'secretive web' of trusts set up as a 'gimmick' used to 'control' her.

She fumed that the proposed deal would see her ex-husband, 'stay in control of the trusts and the money. It's demeaning, and I feel sick to my stomach with humiliation.'

Slamming the 'disrespectful, shameful and humiliation' offers, she vowed to take the matter to court.

'A litigation might take years and be very expensive, but I'm doing this for my daughters, who look up to me, and one day they will be wives and mothers just like me,' Paulson said.

The billionaire's team previously hit back stating the trusts were set up two decades ago to protect the kids but that Paulson is trying to claw the assets for herself.

They claim breaking the trusts would cost the children an eye-watering $1 billion in taxes.

'Jenny was not only offered hundreds of millions of dollars in a divorce settlement, but John previously offered to request that the trustees remove future spouses and children as trust beneficiaries,' one of his attorneys said.

'She outright rejected the offer. Thus, her argument that she is opening the trusts to protect her children is absolutely false.'

Robert S. Cohen, Paulson's counsel, shot back: 'This is typical of Mr. Paulson. He appears to prefer using the children in the media, with false accusations against Mrs. Paulson, as a weapon to bully her to give up her right to her day in court under the rule of law.

'He knows that New York State law provides Mrs. Paulson to a right to equitable distribution of the assets accumulated during their marriage. Yet, in fact, all Mr. Paulson has offered Mrs. Paulson is an "allowance". That is a fact.'

He jibed that the billionaire might be 'short on cash as a result of his staking so much of his money on expensive parties and big donations to help Mr. Trump's presidential ambitions' in reference to a recent fundraiser he held for the White House hopeful at his Florida home.

The event was hosted by Paulson, 68, and his new fiancée Alina de Almeida, 35.

The couple got engaged while he was still caught up in the acrimonious divorce proceedings.
