This is the horrific moment a California Subway manager was viscously punched in the face by an irate customer who wanted extra ham on his sandwich.
The bizarre altercation happened at a Subway location in Madera on May 2 when the customer, George Sandoval, walked behind the counter and attacked the General Manager, Monique Larios.
Larios said that was called into work that day because Sandoval started to get angry with other employees.
'I did not expect it. He came around the corner and I said, "What are you going to do, hit me over ham?" And he hit me. He punched me and all I could remember is just black,' she told KFSN.

The general manager was left with intense purple swelling around her eye from the attack
Madera Police later arrested Sandoval who is facing a battery charge
Video surveillance from inside the store captured the moment Sandoval hit Larios.
Sandoval rushes behind the counter and immediately starts punching the manager in the face as another female employee tries to protect her.
The employee manages to get Larios away from the angry customer as another customer wraps his arms around Sandoval's neck and jumps on his back.
As he latches on to the suspect, the brave customer tackles Sandoval into the register while the female employee punches him.
The two men then start punching each other as Sandoval pushes him out from behind the counter and the female employees make their way to the back and check on Larios.
Madera Police later arrested Sandoval, who is now facing a battery charge. Larios was left with intense purple swelling around her eye from the altercation.
Larios has taken a break from work as her injuries heal. Subway will be providing worker's compensation for her while she is out, KMPH reported.

Larios said that she not only plans to press charges, but might also pursue civil action against Sandoval
'I'm scared. I still can't feel half of my face. There could be some kind of permanent damage. I've never been so numb to where my face feels like it's a mask,' Larios said.
DailyMail.com contacted the Madera Police Department and Subway.
Larios explained that she was shocked that Sandoval hit her.
'I'm 4-foot-11 and this guy was 6-foot-5 and almost 400 pounds,' she said. 'I did not deserve this at all. I was just doing my job.'
She added she had no idea how he could have gotten so angry over a sandwich order.
'There was nothing wrong, the sandwich was made to our Subway standards. I don't know why he didn't give me a chance to figure out what he wanted,' Larios added.
The store later proved Sandoval only asked for six extra slices of ham, not 12.
Larios said that she not only plans to press charges, but might also pursue civil action against Sandoval.
