Mica Miller's estranged pastor husband told her funeral mourners he tried to raise her from the dead when he visited her body after her suicide.

Mica, 30, was found dead in Lumbee River State Park in North Carolina on April 27 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

She took her own life days after serving her husband John Paul Miller, 44, with divorce papers, and police ruled it a suicide.

Miller is accused in court documents of grooming Mica for years before they wed, committing her to hospital to steal her car, and cheating on his first wife with underage churchgoers.

The pastor gave an emotional 20-minute speech at a memorial service at Solid Rock Ministries in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on May 5.

Solid Rock posted the video of the eulogy almost a week later on Saturday and hundreds of viewers were unnerved by Miller's 'fake and sad act of damage control'.

Miller told mourners he visited her body in the morgue four times in the week since she died.

'Each time it still didn't hit me, I thought she was going to wake up - I even tried to raise her from the dead one time this week,' he said.

He went to the mall later that day and saw a woman who looked just like Mica with similar clothes and tattoo on her arm and he instinctively yelled 'Mica!'

When she turned around it turned out to be was one of her sisters.

'I thought I raised her from the dead... I can't wait to see her again one day,' he said, wiping tears from his eyes.

Miller said many people saying how beautiful she was on the outside but 'only a spouse knows how beautiful a person is on the inside'.

'If I had 10 hours it wouldn't be enough to tell you all the great things about her,' he said.

He talked about beauty pageants Mica won, from school onwards, and moved on to stories that would help funeralgoers understand a 'more intimate side of her'.

The couple married in 2017 and Miller recounted his elaborate proposal where he brought the congregation to the beach under the guise of a baptism.

As a plane flew by dragging a 'will you marry me Mica?' banner, he turned her towards the ocean while the church clapped and cheered.

But she said 'why is everybody cheering?' because she couldn't read it because she didn't have her contact lenses in.

Miller called his estranged wife 'bold, confident, anointed, passionate' at leading worship, with a powerful singing voice he could hear all over their house.

He recalled how she sat through the Pitch Perfect movie trilogy '15 times' before finally telling him she didn't like them, and a trip to a karaoke bar on a holiday to Cancun during Spring Break.

Mica sang Sunday Morning in the dingy bar, and the locals all stood up, raised their drinks, and sang chorus with her in broken English. They got her to sing five songs in a row.

Miller showed photos of her doing adventurous things on holiday that scared him.

'I don't know if this is safe, I'm a lot older than you and I don't know if I should be doing this,' he remembered telling her.

'She loved doing dangerous things, she loved skydiving and she would beg me to do these things with her and I said never, I have children, I can't do this stuff.'

Miller also recalled how she convinced him to get their marriage vows tattooed on their forearms.

'I can't stand tattoos because they hurt and I don't like pain,' he said.

Mica's family boycotted the service and held their own on the beach instead.

Footage of the eulogy sparked backlash on Saturday with many shocked at Miller's involvement.

'This man is so close to never being able for redemption. John Paul Miller get on your knees and repent for how you treated this woman,' one wrote.

Another added: 'This is such a low level of blasphemy. This man literally has no shame whatsoever.'

Others were disgusted that Miller 'stalked' her body four times after being subject to a restraining order in the weeks before her death.

'This is the creepiest service. Those are the fakest tears I've ever seen. Seems like he is glad she is gone and rushing the funeral so he can get on with another life.'

Mica called police at least eight times in the weeks leading up to her death, making all manner of accusations against him.

Reverend Charles Randall disputed reports he fired Miller as Solid Rock's pastor, insisting he just benched him so he could heal.

'I have released him from ministerial functions for a minute to get some healing, and some counselling and some guidance. You can't go through these things like this and just step right back to same day,' he said during a sermon on Sunday.

He declined to respond to allegations that Miller had sexual encounters with young girls under the age of 16 who he met through the church.

'He is grieving and healing at this time. I'm in touch with Pastor Miller every day, and he's healing,' he told DailyMail.com.

The claims were revealed by DailyMail.com after obtaining explosive divorce papers filed against Miller by his ex-wife Alison in 2015, where she also said he admitted to being 'addicted to prostitution'.

Miller also started an affair with Mica, who at the time was the couple's babysitter and the wife of his best friend Jeremy Deas, his ex, Alison said in an affidavit from 2017 referring to events two years earlier.

Alison's affidavit claimed church leaders 'demanded that the defendant seek counseling for sexual addiction', but when he refused the 'majority of our church left the congregation'.

Randall told the congregation that Miller is 'progressing', and that he has stepped in to help the 'born-again Christian' navigate the situation.

A waitress also claims Miller was sending her flirty messages while his wife planned to kill herself, including calling her 'super hot' and asking for 'bikini pics.'

Mica's sister, Sierra, has filed a claim against both the church and Miller following her sister's death.

Court documents filed in Horry County Family Court accuse Solid Rock Church of 'colluding and conspiring' with the pastor to 'defraud and deprive' his wife.

The couple initially split on September 20 2023, before the divorce was dismissed on February 13.

Later that same month Miller filed against his wife for separate support and maintenance in a motion withdrawn March 11.

But on April 15, just 12 days before she was found dead, Mica filed for divorce once more and sought a no contact order against her husband. They split for the second time on February 6.

DailyMail.com previously revealed how she accused him of posting a nude photograph of her on Facebook just weeks before her death.

Miller has since admitted to the malicious act and even claimed he tried to make amends – telling NewsNation the act was 'evil'.

Later on March 14 and March 26 Mica reported that she had found a tracking device on her car, after discovering it attached by magnets under the chassis.

Another police report over the alleged theft of her silver Honda Accord shows the breakdown of their marriage dating back to February 2023.

'When the complainant was discharged from the hospital, hospital staff informed her that her husband picked up her purse and her keys,' the report states.

'The complainant believed that her husband fraudulently initiated her involuntary hospitalization and 'stole' her care while she was in the hospital.'

Mica met with the cops at Coastal Grand Mall and told them she and her husband had been separated since January of that year.

When investigators contacted her husband, he told them that his wife had been suffering from a 'reckless episode' due to poor mental health.

He said the incidents were annual crises which would flare up around Christmas and result in Mica spending excessively.

Miller told the officer he seized the vehicle to prevent it being sold and would not give it back for a month to allow the episode to pass.

As both parties stated they were legally married, the investigator had to consider the car as marital property and therefore 'could not establish a criminal offense'.

The most salacious claim in Mica's police reports was that Miller, who is 14 years older than her, 'groomed' her since she was 10, before they married in 2017.

'The complainant stated that she has known her husband since she was ten-years-old and that he 'groomed' her while she worked for him at Solid Rock Church until they were married,' the report added.

Miller's lawyer Russel Long said this 'couldn't be farther from the truth. She moved to Myrtle Beach at the age of 15, was married to another man at the age of 18 and divorced at the age of 21'.

'It has come to light that Mica Miller struggled with mental illness, specifically bipolar disorder, which, when not properly managed, led to paranoid episodes and self-destructive behavior,' he said.

Long claimed 'some reports made by her in the recent past are nonsensical' in reference to her claims recorded in police documents.

Long added that Mica's death being ruled a suicide by police 'completely exonerates Pastor Miller of any wrongdoing'.

Mica's sister Sierra Francis told NewsNation she probably meant Miller groomed her since 2010, as her sister told her it began when she was 14 or 15.

Miller stunned his congregants last week when, after a service in which he had laughed and appeared entirely at ease, he announced that his wife had died.

The pastor, who has a criminal record including multiple counts of aggravated assault and battery to which he pleaded guilty, told his congregation that her death was 'self-induced'.

'You all know she wasn't well mentally and that she needed her medicine and it was hard to get to her,' he said.

Before making the announcement, he asked his flock to stand and instructed them to, 'leave church quietly and don't talk about the announcement here in the building.'

Evidence released by Robeson County Sheriff's Office as part of their investigation conclusively shows Mica plotting to end her life. She bought the gun just a few hours before her suicide.

Weeks before her death, she had shared a video speaking about abuse within marriage as claims emerged, she was being harassed and was 'afraid for her life'.

'Today my heart's a little heavy. I've had lots of women that have reached out to me about situations of abuse, and I just want to tell you what a lot of people have told me lately, because I think I forgot,' she said.

'But you are the bride of Christ before anybody else's, male or female, it doesn't matter what gender you are, abuse is abuse.'
