An Australian punk rock band has said they are 'shaken to the core' after a young fan broke her neck when their lead singer leapt into the crowd at a concert last month.
Bird Piché, 24, suffered a 'catastrophic spinal injury' after John Floreani, the vocalist of Trophy Eyes, crowd surfed at their show at Mohawk Place in Buffalo, New York, on April 30.
Disturbing footage shows Piché's distinctive pink hair bobbing along to the music before Floreani leapt into the mosh pit during the horror incident.
The music lover's neck was broken and she was partially paralyzed - but she has since regained feeling in her arms and fingers according to family friends.
'This situation has shaken us all to our core, and we ask for patience while we look to help Bird navigate this difficult time. Please, keep Bird in your thoughts,' Trophy Eyes said in a statement posted on X several days later.

'As a result of the tragic accident on the night of April 30, a Trophy Eyes fan was injured at our Buffalo NY show,' they added.
'We elected to immediately shut down the show as John accompanied them to the hospital with their family.
'Out of respect for the family, we have refrained from speaking about this publicly so far, but with the blessing of the family we are now able to say how truly heartbroken we are to be here now.
'Our friend, Bird, is now in recovery, but still has a long road ahead for them... the situation has shaken us all to our core, and we ask for patience while we look to help Bird navigate this difficult time.'
The Newcastle, Australia band has donated $5,000 to the fundraiser for Piché's medical bills, created by family friends Leo Wolters Tejera and Stephanie Brown.
Tejera told Abc's WKBW that Piché's neck was 'definitely broken' but she had regained feeling in her arms and hands by May 3.
'She can use her fingers and hands and stuff. Her fine motor skills are a little rough but the surgeon said that's kind of normal from the surgery and anesthesia.'
Tejera added that he was shocked by the extent of his friend's injuries because footage of the shock incident does not look dramatic.

'The video is wild because unless you knew that someone was hurt in the video, you'd never expect that,' he told WKBW.
'Like it's just an average stage dive. The video that I saw on Facebook and then another angle surfaced on a Reddit thread, both of them just seem fairly innocuous.'
Tejera recalled the incident happened during the band's opening song.
'He (Floreani) stage dove into the crowd, and there must just not have been enough people around there to catch him, or they weren't aware that he was going to jump,' he said.
Another commenter who claimed to be standing behind Piché as Floreani dove from the stage previously said the singer was 'clearly devastated' after realizing he'd hurt her.
Tejera added that others at the concert thought Piché had fainted so they rushed to grab her a cold rag.
'When they came back, they realized she was on the ground,' he said. 'She wasn't getting up and John, the singer, was was like right there with her.
'So yeah, they took her right to the hospital into emergency trauma surgery, and then she was admitted.'
Stephanie Brown, a close family friend who organized the fundraiser with Tejera, said Piché has already undergone 'extensive surgery'

Stephanie Brown, a close family friend who organized the fundraiser with Tejera, said Piché has already undergone 'extensive surgery'.
'She has a long recovery ahead and will need all the help she can get,' she wrote.
'It is still too early to know what her prognosis is but after leaving the hospital she will need to go to a rehab facility. She will obviously not be able to work during this time.'
Buffalo's Mohawk Place manager Mike Thor said the venue has a strict 'no moshing' policy.
'There are signs posted everywhere in the venue and notice was included in the emails for this show with the show's promoter and the band themselves,' he said in a statement.
'Our policy and practised procedure is a full show stop for any stage diving which was put into place for this incident.
'Currently we are working to put together a charity show to help the injured party with their GoFundMe.'
