The Kansas City Chiefs will follow their 2024 home opener against the Baltimore Ravens by traveling to another AFC North team just a week later.

Ahead of the full schedule release on Wednesday night, the Super Bowl champion's second game has now been revealed ahead of time.

And it has been announced that Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Co will head on the road for a tough match-up in Week 2.

They will face Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals, who won the AFC North in 2021 and 2022, reaching the Super Bowl in the first of those two seasons.

Although the Bengals had a tough 2023 season and missed out on the playoffs, Burrow and Co are set to be a formidable opponent for the Chiefs - having beaten them three of the last five times they've played.

The last two, though, have ended with Chiefs victories, with Mahomes leading KC to a 25-17 victory when the teams met on New Year's Eve last season.

Cincinnati fans have used their three victories over Mahomes's Chiefs to fuel the rivalry in recent years.

Even Mayor Aftab Pureval got in on the taunting ahead of the 2023 AFC Championship showdown by releasing a mock proclamation.

Taking to Instagram, the mayor shared a video in which he mocked the Chiefs signal-caller by claiming officials had asked Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow to take a paternity test to determine if he's Mahomes' father, given his 3-0 record against Kansas City.

He also referred to the Chiefs' stadium, Arrowhead, as Burrowhead, referencing Bengals fans' nickname used to taunt their rivals over Burrow's dominance at their ground.

However, following the Chiefs' triumph in the playoff matchup, Travis Kelce fired back at Mayor Pureval.

Burrowhead my a**!', Kelce screamed over Mahomes' shoulder as the quarterback gave his postgame interview, 'This is Mahomes' House.'

Mahomes followed that up in his postgame interview, saying 'We showed this place is Arrowhead, it's not Burrowhead out here.'

Ja'Marr Chase provided the Chiefs with some bulletin board material heading into last season.

He made headlines when he declared that Burrow was the best player in the league and when told his own quarterback had ranked Mahomes as top, he responded, 'Pat who?'

But it's Burrow himself who has already fueled the fire ahead of the two rivals' clash in Week 2 after his appearance on Travis and Jason Kelce's New Heights.

'They have great players, we have great players,' Burrow said during the special live show from the University of Cincinnati, per the Bengals website'I think we match up pretty well with them. We're kind of built to beat them.'

Cincinnati does have bragging rights over every other AFC team as they're the only ones to have beaten the Chiefs in the playoffs since the 2019 season.

Burrow and the Bengals overcame a 21-3 deficit in overtime to win the 2021 AFC Championship game but the Chiefs got their revenge the following year winning the 2022 AFC title game 23-20.

Burrow suffered an injury to his right (throwing) wrist in mid-November, just two months after signing a five-year contract extension worth $275 million. He is the highest-paid player in NFL history on an annual basis, making $55 million per year.

He underwent surgery to repair a torn ligament, forcing him out of the remainder of the season.

But the signal caller looks to be closing in on his return for the 2024 season, as he4 was seen throwing in training earlier this month.

Bengals coach Zac Taylor had said in March that Burrow was 'right on schedule' with his rehab and they expected him to participate in the team's offseason program.
