Super Bowl LVIII champion Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who spent last season with the Kansas City Chiefs, is getting closer to a move to western New York.
Valdes-Scantling is a free agent and had been looking for a new team all offseason.
But now, according to multiple reports, the receiver is signing with the Buffalo Bills.
Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, Valdes-Scantling will ink a one-year deal worth up to $4.5million - which includes a $1.125m signing bonus.
The receiver they call 'MVS' would be a much welcome addition to a Bills team that lost significant wideout talent in the offseason.
Former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling could move to Buffalo
Valdes-Scantling was targeted 42 times in the regular season, but caught half those passes
He also made a crucial touchdown catch that gave the Chiefs their first lead in Super Bowl LVIII
Top receiver Stefon Diggs was traded to the Houston Texans and second-best receiver Gabe Davis signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars in free agency.
The team's current WR1 was last year's WR3 in Khalil Shakir, with Curtis Samuel and draft pick Keon Coleman also in the mix for targets from quarterback Josh Allen.
Last season, Shakir caught 39 passes for 611 yards while Samuel caught 62 passes for 613 yards while with the Washington Commanders.
While Valdes-Scantling only hauled in 315 yards last season, he did so while catching (21) half of his targets (42) and averaging 15 yards per catch.
He also hauled in a crucial touchdown in Super Bowl LVIII that gave Kansas City its first lead in a game they went on to win 25-22 in overtime.
Before Kansas City, Valdes-Scantling was a crucial target for Aaron Rodgers back when they both played for the Green Bay Packers.
