Horrifying video shows how a Texas boy was forced to take cover during a drive-by shooting outside his home.

The nine-year-old boy comes within inches of being hit, sat in his house in Fort Worth with his two dogs.

At least four bullets enter the apartment, fired from the backseat of a red Kia Soul.

The car is seen in surveillance footage speeding past the first-floor residence as young Errol Hill ducks for cover.

You can see the boy on the couch directly in front of a window when the bullets come flying in, in an incident that saw six other young people, including a toddler, injured. As cops search for a suspect, the boy sat for an interview with his mother.

'It came through the wall,' Errol recalled to NBC Dallas-Fort Worth of the incident, which occurred on May 1.

'I thought it was just fireworks, but when I heard the screams, I looked outside.'

The boy's mother, MaryJane Gonzales, added of her two other children's' response to the shots fired off-screen: 'You could hear everybody screaming downstairs,'

'The screams were hard screams, not playful screams.'

She then went on to recall coming to the aid of six people wounded outside her home, including a three-year-old toddler who cops in the Texas city said was the most 'seriously' injured.

The kid, she told the NBC News affiliate, was going in and out of consciousness.

'It forever changed our life. We are traumatized,' she said, growing emotional at points while seated in the very same living room where the bullets had ripped just a few weeks earlier. 'I've never seen anyone get shot, let alone a child.'

She said she's set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for her and her family, so they can 'move to safety' as cops probe the incident.

'The fear we felt that night still haunts us, especially our children, who are now scared to stay in the place we've called home for four years,' the page states,

'Despite reaching out to apartment management, they have not taken action to repair the bullet holes or address our safety concerns.

'With full-time work and school commitments, we never imagined having to find a new home on such short notice, especially after just signing a year-long lease.

'We're reaching out to our community for support to help us move to a safer environment where our children can feel secure again.

'Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a huge difference in our lives,' the family wrote.

'Your generosity will help us heal from this trauma and start anew. Thank you for standing with us during this challenging time.'

Meanwhile, clips taken from outside the family's home shows how an unsuspecting group of students convened outside appeared to be the suspect's - or suspects' - targets, seen scattering as bullets fly from the speeding Kia.
