College volleyball star Mariam Creighton was killed early Sunday morning in a 'senseless' nightclub shooting in Atlanta at the age of 21.
Creighton played for Division-II Albany State with the Atlanta Police Department saying two people were killed in the shooting and four others were injured from gunfire.
The other victim has been identified as 20-year-old Nakyris Ridley.
'We are deeply saddened by the passing of one of our student-athletes - Mariam Creighton,' Albany State athletics' official X account said in a post. 'The Golden Ram athletics community extends heartfelt condolences to Mari’s family, friends, and teammates during this incredibly difficult time.'
Albany State is an HBCU about three hours south of Atlanta.

Creighton was close to graduating from the school.
Creighton's sister Tiffany told TMZ the shooting was 'senseless', with her family saying she was at the nightclub to celebrate her niece's birthday.
"Preliminary investigation indicates the shooting occurred during a physical dispute at the location that escalated to gunfire," the Atlanta Police Department said in a statement.
The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, which the Golden Rams are a part of, also posted a statement on Creighton's passing.
'The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference expresses its deepest condolences on the passing of Ms. Mariam Creighton, a beloved daughter, friend, proud Golden Ram and cherished member of the SIAC,' the statement read.
'We offer our heartfelt sympathies to Mari's family, friends, teammates and the Albany State community during this profoundly difficult time. Mari's lasting impact and enduring spirit will always be remembered,' the statement continued.
The shooting took place at Elleven45 Lounge in north Atlanta.
