Robert De Niro went on an expletive-filled rant against Donald Trump during an appearance on The View which saw him muted four times.
The actor, 80, branded the presidential hopeful 'hateful' and repeated comparisons to WW2 tyrants Hitler and Mussolini during the interview on Tuesday.
'I don't understand why people are not taking him seriously, because you read about it historically in other countries that they didn't take the people seriously,' De Niro said.
'Think of Hitler and Mussolini. Fools and clowns. Well -- and I hear -- some people -- I mean, who does not think that this guy is going to do exactly what he says he's going to do? He's done it already.'
He also agreed with co-host Whoopi Goldberg who suggested that Trump, 77, would 'stay in [office] until he drops dead'.

'He's not even conceding it now so imagine if he actually did win the election. It's over,' De Niro said.
'We're going to have such civil strife. All the things he says because everybody is now on to him where he projects what he's saying.
'It's what he wants, what he envisions the world to be which is chaos and craziness, total craziness.'

'If he gets elected it's going to change this country for everybody and they might think that it's going to make their life better or just want, excuse my French, [muted],' De Niro said.
He also referenced a long-standing feud between the former president and Rosie O'Donnell, calling Trump's trolling 'vicious'.
'Those people who support him with anger and hate because that's what he's about, they're going to see. I mean, I used to see these things -- I didn't understand how he and Rosie O'Donnell -- I see what a hateful, mean-spirited awful thing he is,' De Niro added.
'It's almost like he wants to do the worst that he could possibly do to show this country [muted]. His slogan should be, "I want to f*** America".'

The presidential hopeful has previously branded De Niro a 'loser' following criticism
It comes weeks after the actor blasted Trump ding an appearance on MSNBC's The 11th Hour with Stephanie Ruhle.
De Niro called Trump a 'a sick person,' a 'narcissistic,' a 'monster, and a 'stupid bully.'
The presumptive Republican heir has not been shy in his response to the critique.
Last year he slammed the Taxi Driver star as a 'total loser', after the legendary actor reignited their feud by claiming his speech at a New York awards ceremony was cut short to remove barbs about him.
De Niro went on to deliver the section in full including all the Trump jibes before blasting Apple, the Awards' organizer, for deleting the speech.
Trump, 77, took to Truth Social to blast the veteran actor.
'Robert De Niro, whose acting talents have greatly diminished, with his reputation now shot, must even use a teleprompter for his foul and disgusting language, so disrespectful to our Country,' Trump wrote.
