A young woman has sworn she'll never use Uber again after catching a driver allegedly performing a lewd act behind the wheel.
Tayla Pimlott, 26, was taking a short trip from Adelaide's CBD to the north-eastern suburb of Campbelltown one afternoon in October when she claims to have noticed the driver pleasuring himself in the front seat.
She had just finished a long day at work and wanted a 'quick and quiet' trip home instead of using public transport - but soon found herself 'holding back tears'.
Ms Pimlott was in the back seat scrolling through her phone when she noticed a 'subtle hand gesture' that made her look up, and was instantly 'petrified'.
'I could see clearly that [the Uber driver] had his penis out and he was masturbating,' she told Yahoo.

Ms Pimlott said a hundred thoughts crossed her mind in that moment, and she even considered getting out of the moving vehicle.
'There was a part of me that thought, "Oh, God, I could die, I could be raped, this man could touch me,"' she said.
While she admitted she heard a 'little voice' in her head telling her she could be overreacting, Ms Pimlott knew she had to do something.
Realising she had to put her safety first, she texted her mother and boyfriend.
She was also able to capture footage of the man, which she hoped to use as evidence when she reported the incident to police.
Ms Pimlott said she messaged her mother because she was petrified
Ms Pimlott recalled how her heart was pounding, but she pretended she did not notice anything out of fear the driver would lash out if she confronted him.
When she arrived home, where her worried mother was waiting for her, she had to ask the driver to unlock the car doors.
'He fully turned around and looked at me and in the most creepiest voice I've ever heard he goes, "Thank you so much,"' she said.
A mortified Ms Pimlott replied, 'You're welcome,' and jumped out of the car, afraid that being anything but polite would put her in more danger.
She reported the incident to Uber and urged them to ban the driver. The company would not tell her whether this was actioned because of its 'strict privacy notice'.
She also reported the incident to police, who she claims arrested the man later that day.
Ms Pimlott said the driver was now 'banned' from visiting her home or work, but the scars of the ordeal remain.
She said her mental health had been significantly impacted, adding that she would never use Uber again.
Uber condemned the driver's alleged actions in a statement to Daily Mail Australia.
'What's been reported has no place in the Uber community or anywhere else,' a spokesperson said.

'We have raised the bar for safety across the industry, including investing in cutting-edge technology and features to help improve safety for riders and drivers on every trip.
'Using our Safety Toolkit, riders can contact emergency services, share their trip live with a loved one and every trip is GPS tracked in real time.
