Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is trying to worm his way into the presidential debates by claiming Joe Biden and Donald Trump want to 'exclude' him to avoid facing eight years of 'mutual failure.'
The current and former president finally publicly agreed to meet on the debate stage next month for their first head-to-head of the 2024 election.
Kennedy lamented in an X post on Wednesday that 70 percent of Americans are against the inevitable rematch between Trump and Biden and said Trump and Biden are 'colluding' to keep him out of the debates.
The longshot independent candidate, who admitted in 2012 that a worm ate part of his brain, has been dubbed a spoiler by many. But he insists he's in it to win.
Biden proposed two separate debates against Trump in June and September, which the former president immediately accepted in a post on his Truth Social account.
'It is my great honor to accept the CNN Debate against Crooked Joe Biden, the WORST PRESIDENT in the History of the United States and a true Threat to Democracy, on June 27th,' Trump wrote. 'Likewise, I accept the ABC News Debate against Crooked Joe on September 10th. Thank you, DJT!'
Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump are 'colluding' to keep him out of the 2024 general election debates
The first debate will be held in Atlanta, Georgia on June 27 and does not have an audience. CNN, the hosting network, released eligibility for the debate, including requirements that the candidates receive 15 percent in four national polls of registered likely voters.
No mention was made of Kennedy appearing on the debate stage and he does not meet the polling requirements based on the surveys CNN considers for qualification – and most times struggles to even get near double digit support.
RFK Jr. claims Trump and Biden are 'afraid' to debate him and want to avoid facing their failures.
'Presidents Trump and Biden are colluding to lock America into a head-to-head match-up that 70% say they do not want,' RFK Jr. wrote in his post to X. 'They are trying to exclude me from their debate because they are afraid I would win.'
He continued: 'Keeping viable candidates off the debate stage undermines democracy.'
Kennedy was initially running in the Democratic primary against Biden, but last year changed tactics when he filed to run as an independent candidate.
'Forty-three percent of Americans identify as independents,' RFK Jr. wrote on Wednesday. 'If Americans are ever going to escape the hammerlock of the two-party system, now is the time to do it.'
'These are the two most unpopular candidates in living memory.'
'By excluding me from the stage, Presidents Biden and Trump seek to avoid discussion of their eight years of mutual failure including deficits, wars, lockdowns, chronic disease, and inflation,' he concluded.

RFK Jr. insists he should be included in the debates because 70 percent of Americans don't want a Trump v. Biden rematch in 2024
Progressive MoveOn Political Action Chief Communications Officer Joel Payne said RFK Jr. has no path toward gaining the Electoral College votes needed to win a presidential election and should give up on the pipe dream.
'Presidential debates are reserved for candidates who actually have a chance to win, not candidates who have no path to 270 electoral college votes,' Payne wrote in a statement after RFK Jr.'s outrage over not being included in the debates.
He added: 'Kennedy Jr. will just have to find another venue to spew his conspiracy theories and outline his latest extreme anti-abortion position.'
Biden released a quick 13-second video on Wednesday morning telling Trump he would debate him 'twice' and taking a stab at the former president's refusal to participate in the Republican primary debates held last year.
He added: 'Kennedy Jr. will just have to find another venue to spew his conspiracy theories and outline his latest extreme anti-abortion position.'
'Make my day, pal,' Biden taunted.
Trump wrote in a Truth Social post on Wednesday after the video was released: 'Crooked Joe Biden is the WORST debater I have ever faced - He can't put two sentences together! Crooked is also the WORST President in the history of the United States, by far.'
'It's time for a debate so that he can explain to the American People his highly destructive Open Border Policy, new and ridiculous EV Mandates, the allowance of Crushing Inflation, High Taxes, and his really WEAK Foreign Policy,' he continued.
'I am Ready and Willing to Debate Crooked Joe at the two proposed times in June and September.'
CNN said it would not have a crowd present for the debate as a way to minimize distraction and partisan cheering.
But Trump wasn't pleased with that part of the proposal.
'I would strongly recommend more than two debates and, for excitement purposes, a very large venue, although Biden is supposedly afraid of crowds - That's only because he doesn't get them,' Trump wrote.
'Just tell me when, I'll be there. 'Let's get ready to Rumble!!!'
