Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes' high-school basketball highlights have resurfaced in a new video posted to X by former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III.
Mahomes was a three-sport athlete at Whitehouse High School in East Texas before his dazzling career at Texas Tech and now with the Kansas City Chiefs.
With a father, Patrick Mahomes Sr., who was a Major League baseball pitcher for a decade, and knowing his talent on the gridiron, the three-time Super Bowl winner's skills on the hardwood were the hardest to imagine.
Griffin posted the minute-long highlight tape to X on Wednesday morning with the caption: 'Kansas City Chiefs All Galaxy QB Patrick Mahomes saucy basketball highlights @PatrickMahomes', with a shocked face emoji.
Mahomes quickly responded: 'I promise I was hoopin!!! They didn’t have to put the charge on the highlights tho,' he said with three crying while laughing emojis.
The highlight tape starts with Mahomes dunking the ball with one hand three separate times

The highlight tape starts with three one-handed dunks from prep Mahomes, who may have been still growing into his 6-foot-2 frame.
Then the film shows Mahomes making eight mid-range or 3-point baskets in a row.
Mahomes appears taller than most of his opponents in small-school Texas prep basketball, but is playing traditionally more of a point-guard style.
The now-Chiefs quarterback's more physical side comes out during the end of the tape, making a few tough and-one baskets, as well as taking a charge.
Mahomes also converts a tricky cross-court pass that bounces twice to a teammate.
The last highlight on the tape shows a Mahomes pass from the perimeter into the low-post where his Whitehouse teammate easily scores off the backboard.
