An entire town has been listed on the market for just $6.6 million - but comes with a raft of costs for the new owner.
Located just an hour outside of San Diego, California, the small town of Campo is being sold by Nick Hernandez and Joseph Barela with realtors Top Gun CRE.
Made up of 28 buildings, including a mix of residential and commercial buildings, the town is in desperate need of renovations. By buying the property, interested parties can also determine the direction they want the downtown area to go in.
Many of the residential units have been renovated for aesthetics and comfort, including new roofing and plank flooring.
Other vacant buildings hold the opportunities for new businesses, such as gyms, laundromats, daycares, or community centers.

Investors can focus on building more housing units on the available land without changing the existing buildings.
This could involve building apartments, townhouses, or other types of multi-unit dwellings.
An investor can also demolish and rebuild a significant part of the town for the sake of modernization, such as adding new housing options, commercial spaces, and improved infrastructure.
In an interview with local Fox affiliate KUSI, Barela said he has had a number of interested parties, such as famous movie producer (whose identity he didn't disclose) and professional skateboarder Tony Hawk.
The town was originally built during World War II to house soldiers in the event of an invasion. Campo currently houses 100 residents, all of which are renting from one owner, who is ready to sell the property.
